Immediately Reinstate Your License Pursuant to New Law Effective July 1, 2013.
11/30/2013 3:13:00 PM by Law Office of Tony Hernandez, III
Once you have been arrested for DUI, you have 10 days to preserve your driving privileges. If you fail to act within 10 days, you will face mandatory "hard-time" (no driver's license). If you have no prior suspensions for an alcohol-related offense the new law, Florida Statute 322.271(7), may allow you to immediately have your driving privileges reinstated if you: 1. Sign up for the appropriate level DUI school, 2. Are ID compliant (verify citizenship and residency requirements to DMV) and 3. File a Request for Eligibility Review at the appropriate DMV office, all within 10 days of your DUI arrest. Due to the new law, you may want to elect to waive the formal review hearing and submit your case to an eligibility review. Your drivers license may be immediately reinstated. Remember, a decision must be made within 10 days of arrest. I invite you to call my office and schedule a free office consultation to discuss your options. Attorney Tony Hernandez, III 321-799-3971
