Dr. Leo Townsend, a dentist in Elk Grove, CA with over 25 years of experience. When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that allow us to begin your dental treatment. We will ask you to fill out forms that help you get acquainted with our office. Your initial exam lasts approximately one hour. This visit helps us get acquainted with each other and learn about your goals and desires for your dental treatment. X-rays are taken allowing Dr. Townsend to examine the jaw’s structure, tooth position, and tooth decay. Oral hygiene instructions are also provided along with suggestions to help you care for your teeth. In most cases, we then determine the type of cleaning you will need on your following visit and provide you with an evaluation that outlines your existing dental problems and proposed treatment. We believe that good dental care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about any symptoms present that may require further dental treatment, our diagnosis, alternative treatments that may exist, and our recommendations. Working together, we can achieve a true partnership, with one common goal – keeping your smile beautiful and your teeth, gums, and jaw joints healthy! Leo W. Townsend, D.D.S., is originally from Southern California and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee and completed a GPR residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He continually updates his dental techniques through classes and hands-on seminars. The doctor and his family have lived here in the Elk Grove / Laguna area for over 20+ years.
