About 25 - 27 years ago I was a young girl and had a 1979 Toyota Corolla. I was single and someone had told me about Daiwa Auto Repair and that they were totally honest, and seriously knew about Japanese cars. (At the time, all of their mechanics were Asian, and their car manuals were written in Japanese!) I'd found out that they were the BEST place in the world that I could have ever gone to. I'd used them for ANYTHING that went wrong with my car, and there were times that, when actually I personally thought that something was going wrong, they'd straighten me out and just tell me that it just needed a little 'so and so' and maybe charged me $10.00 or nothing at all. So, zoom ahead 25 years now to 4/2013, and now my mother's 1985 Toyota Camry needs a possible transmission, so I called Daiwa after all this time, (found them by using Google Earth because I'd forgotten their name) and I find out that the original owner is STILL there, (he said he's been there 33 years!)and he'd be happy to just give a quick look at it and tell her what he believes is wrong, and if it needs a new tranny at ALL!! I'm SO pleased to know that this wonderful service center is still around, and doubly happy to know that, after all of these years, it STILL has the same owner. In my honest opinion--this is the ONLY place that I'd take my foreign car, if I were still living in the South Bay.
