These people are great,,,,the other reviews are either 5 stars or 1 star. That's impossible. Some pre-Madona who has gone to every hair cutter in the northeast and is never happy. The counter is always nice, I have never waited more than 10 min. Maybe the person waiting so long comes 1 time and expects repeat service. In my business loyalty comes before new business. I go to one person all the time and when they are not there I use someone else and they are all good and I have never received either bad service or a bad haircut.

my mother is elderly and was bed riddin for along time ,,,lauren did her hair with compassion and kindness she did a wonderful color job and a beautiful haircut and made my mom feel like aprincess thank you lauren ,,,and to rosemary the owner i asume you were a angel,,,thank you again so so much!

Headcutters is a upscale salon with affordable prices! The staff is wonderful! Kristin did a amazing job on my hair and my sons hair! And the receptionist rose was so helpful and a wonderful woman ! i will never go anywhere else!

Warning: Do NOT take your young child to get a haircut here! We took our four and a half year old to get his hair cut here because my parent's had been going there for months and recommended it. My dad even called ahead to make sure they had stylists that are experienced with children, but clearly the guy that cut my son's hair was not used to working with kids. The barber (if he even deserves this title) named Kevin totally butchered my sons hair. The FIRST thing I told him was my son has a really bad cowlick and NOT to cut it too short in the back because it would not lay flat. He proceeded to hack away at my son's dry hair (he didn't even bother wetting it) with scissors and CUT THE COWLICK SHORT. I could see it sticking up in the back and I said "that's NOT going to lay flat, is it?" And he replied "no, it's a really bad cowlick". Hello? I WARNED HIM! If that's all he did wrong, it wouldn't have been a total disaster. But he cut the sides very short as well, and totally choppy and uneven. Then, to top it off, he cut his bangs straight across his forehead and WAY too short, effectively giving him a Dumb and Dumber hairstyle. I plan to take him to another salon to see if anything can be done to make it look better while we desperately wait for it to grow. Hopefully it grows fast. This is the worst haircut I have ever seen. It honestly looks like his 2 year old brother cut his hair. For the next month, every time I look at my son I will be reminded of the terrible decision I made to let this place cut my child's hair.

my whole family has been going to this selden branch since it opened. no problem for years. i thought i luved the hair for the price they charge till of course about 2 yrs ago. i have been sheila's customer for years, we used to walk in, no appts ever, then the receptionist said oh u cant walk in, need an appt, meanwhile they advertise walk-ins welcome. still i worked w her. once i cudnt make an appt and i went in, she said oh u wud have to wait about 1/2 hr, i didnt have a choice, she made me wait for 1hr 10 min and i did like a moron and said to me oh sheila has to leave now she can't take u and that was it! i wasn't going to be humiliated like that for something i am paying for, not even free! and i found a new place! hey headcutters! just so u know, there r lots of places out there who treat u better for a buck or two extra. i am not going to lose my dignity for few bucks, no way! infact i discovered the ronkonkoma headcutters on portion rd, v courteous, no appts and pleasant and not TRASH LIKE THE SELDEN ONE!

Tundee is the only good thing about this place. She is professional, talented, friendly, and always listens to her clients. If you can deal with the other 99% of unprofessionalism, Tundee is well worth it. :)

Great place and great service. It's wonderful to see such great prices in such a economy. We all need a break and this salon does that for me and my family. Great haircuts and great people. We were in and out so quickly and paid so little for the services, it was wonderful. Thank you Headcutters.

Headcutters has some great employees. One of the best who I like is Kimberly she is very professional and polite and she does exactly what you want and styles the hair very nicely. The woman at the front desk is unprofessional I went there and she was screaming in the phone because her food was not cooked the right way. I would honestly only reccomend Kimberly from past experiences to cut hair.

hi just realized this sight, n have to say i am a lil embarrassed to say i worked there but i did gain alot of good customers i left there bout a yr ago ive lost alot of people. the managment there told my customers i was on a personal leave i can reassure you i am not on personal leave but permanent. and hopefully the customers i' ve lost come on this sight n find i am now located at a nice italian barber in selden thought i would give this sight a try thanx again victoria castro

please do not go to this place ,my hair is all falling out ,and they dont care the woner never would return my calls .they play like they know what they are doing but they are all idoit please again do not want to happen to other people i give this store a big fat 0

They always follow instructions by the letter and their prices are unbeatable. I guess it depends on who cuts your hair... I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes, with or without an appt and it didnt matter even if they were extremely busy. The receptionist at the front desk has always been very courteous and by the way, has to eat at the front desk because she cannot leave the station. I would highly recommend this place for a haircut. And actually, Pam gave me the greatest haircut I ever had last week and I am still getting compliments on it. So thank you!

The haircuts are ok - sometimes they're too busy talking to each other and you have to remind them to pay attention. I agree that the fat one at the front desk is very abrupt and rude - she's always eating or yelling something - very, very unprofessional!

This is the most un professional place I have ever been to!! The receptionist greeted me with a mouth full of food, told me to have a seat and then proceded to yell across the whole store!! She is rude and loud! While I was getting my hair done she was still yelling!! Ive just never seen a grown woman act that way!! Also, I wanted a trim, nothing crazy, but because I wanted my layers put back in my hair I was charged for a "Re-style" I didnt understand, It wasnt a different haircut? When i questioned the extra 5$ charge I thought my head was gonna be ripped off!!! My hair came out ok.... But I will never go there again!! I work in retail..... The first and last person our customers see is our cashiers.... Yours is your receptionist..... You might want to consider that.

WARNING:Do not go to this store unless you do not care about your hair ,the stylists do not listen to instructions and last time the haircutter chopped up my hair so bad I have not returned yet and that was a year ago,and the receptionist (the old fat one) is abrupt even though she tries to pull off being polite, she is not and the wait is sooo long, even if you arrive on time and when they ruin your hair they just do not care and they don't stand behind their work. This place is as unprofessional as businesses come, they just do not care about customer satifaction,meaning love it or f-ck off. I won't mention names but on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it this store in selden and its "employees a big zero, SSHAME ON YOU SELDEN HEADCUTTERS :( I would suggest you go to a better salon and pay a few dollars more because their charges are high, for another $20 you can go home happy:(, The owner must be so ashamed, I would be if it was my store!

Took my daughter there today. Told the girl she wanted long side bangs- she gave her regular bangs. To make matters worse, there is a whole section of hair that is an inch longer than the rest. Also, they advertise a $13 cut, but if you have a "restyle" they charge you an extra $5. What a scam!! Would never go there again. For a couple of more $ you can get a cut @ a higher end shop where the people are actually trained. I would give it zero stars if they let me. Don't waste your money.

My friend and I go here all the time. I used to only go to high priced salons when he convinced me to go here. Our stylist Lauren is very personable and does a great job on both of our haircuts.I would definately recommend this place to anyone looking for a good haircut at a really great price. I would definately recommend our stylist Lauren who always finds the time for us.

This place is great! My friend recommended it to me when my regular hair dresser was not able to get me an appointment. I was thrilled, and the people were so nice (Doreen, especially). She really took the time to figure out exactly how I wanted my hair, and the prices were extremely reasonable! :o)

I had been going to Cactus salon. I tried all three in my area and still not completely satisfied. I take my grand daughter to headcutters and there I met Denise. I loved her hair and decided to give her a try. I am so happy with the way she cuts my hair and for a fraction of the cost. I had paid three times that @ Cactus. Thanks alot DENISE.

I went to Headcutters last week and got the Keratin relaxing treatment. I paid $175. I was quoted $300.from another shop. My hair never looked so good. The operator was extremely professional her name was Tundee. Thank yoy HEADCUTTERS. You have a new customer for life.

I just moved the selded ares. I went into boston market and saw the Headcutters Shop. My husband and my self could not figure out why so many families were in that loby. We went in to see what they were giving away. They were not giving away anything . What we saw was about 12 haircutters cutting hair and to tell you the truth we were very impressed. We decided to both get haircuts and let me tell you by far it was one of the best haircuts we ever got and paid a fraction of what we paid before. Headcutters will be our new shop. \

I been to high priced shops Lemontree Supercuts by far Headcutters does stand far ahead of them the price was excellent the hours are grest and by far you cant beat the price. The person who did my hair told me she did work at a high priced shop. The reason she is working for Headcutters is that they are always busey and the owners are great to work for.My whole family goes to Headcutters and I would recomend them as a top place to get your hair done and a small ticket to pay after your service is done. HEADCUTTERS is # one with our family.

the best foil frosting i ever got was from headcutters. the operator was excellent. her name was KRISTEN. I paid 75.00. The last shop I paid 150.dollars and Headcutters did a much better job.

it was my 1st time there and my experience was horrific. I walked in, and it took 5 min to even be acknowledged with me standing up front. Then when I was finally greeted, I went to the sink to get my hair washed, and the girl did not even smile or have the decency to say a simple hello to me. When I was ready for my haircut, I told the lady (who was very friendly), to just take 1/2 an inch off the length. My hair was completely butchered. There was a good 1 and 1/2 inches taken off. I was literally in and out in 25 minutes. I felt very rushed and extremely uncomfortable being around such unfriendly people. I will never go back, nor reccomend this place to anyone else.
