If I could give him 0 stars I would. He was not helpful whatsoever. His job is to mediate but instead he picks sides and makes errors on visitation agreements and fails to provide both parties with the report he types up and makes his own agreements on. When discussing our case me and my daughters father were having trouble coming to an agreement so he stated and I quote "I have my own problems and I don't want to hear it." I'm sorry but that is completely unacceptable and if you are unable to give mediation due to your own personal problems then you probably shouldn't be in the position to attend work that day and reschedule. I felt bullied and interrogated & I feel the utmost sympathy to anyone who has to attend one of these appointments with him.

Michael Karpowicz was my assigned mediator ( by Judge Patrick Murphy, Bridge view court house) to help me and my sons father come to an agreement regarding my son's ( who is less then a year of age) visitation schedule with his dad. Once we walked into his office he insulted Judge Murphy and insisted his is too old to be a judge and doesnt know anything about children. Then went on to tell us " he is a bald old Irish men".. So already I knew this mediation session was going to be more miserable then expected. Everything I requested from my sons father to do, Karpowicz had a rude arrogant answer for me and questioned my every request. Between having to sit next to my sons father who I cant stand and having Karpowicz practically humiliate me, I couldnt help but feel extremely uncomfortable and bullied. I eventually got upset and started getting emotional trying to explain how hard all this was for me and how much I love my son and just want this to be over... His response was completely unsympathetic and told me I had a metal disorder because I care "too much" about my son...I couldn't help but feel like he was siding with my sons father when HIS JOB is to help us both out into reaching agreements. I hope I never have to see this man again, and if anyone is thinking about hiring him, I encourage you to think twice and shop around.. or gets put in my position REQUEST A DIFFERENT MEDIATOR!
