Last year we had wood floors put in our living room and Frank’s initial quote was the most affordable. Upon meeting with him the second time, he gave us a final quote that was 33% higher than the initial quote! He can be good with his words and made it sound like he was still giving us a good deal. Not to mention, this is our first property, so not as experienced when it comes to recognizing someone with just bad work ethics.
Couple of problems we had:
1.We did not get to read the whole contract as he rushed through the process, and never received a copy of it. If you decide to use his services, please have a contract generated, READ it thoroughly before signing and make sure to obtain a copy.
2. He told us the job will be done in 3 days…he dragged it on for two weeks.
3. He added charges to the final bill and we ended up paying just a few hundred dollars short of other quotes!
5. After the final payment, we noticed that part of the house missing shoe molding, in the kitchen, pantry, powder room and the old thresholds were not replaced. My husband and I had left him over 10 messages over the next three months asking politely to come and finish the job, and he screened our calls and did not answer them nor did he return our phone calls. Once when I finally called him from a different number, he picked up his phone and promised to come back the following week to finish the job…that was 6 months ago!! Please be aware and be cautious before giving him your business! With the amount of hassle we went through it was not worth saving a few hundred bucks for! We still have not found anyone to come out and finish his half finished job as it is not worth anyone’s time to come out for! Our guests, friends, and family notice the missing thresholds and missing shoe moldings in the exposed part of the kitchen…does not look professional.
