Beardsley Plumbing quoted a job for $3,480 and once he started he raised it to $4,460, at this time we have no choice but to move forward because work has already started. When we received the first quote, per his request to begin he needed half down. I gave him a check for half and he left with my check. Then he said he could not get to the bank and needed to send me the cash app for the payment. Although I was hesitant I did go ahead with sending him the money because we need working plumbing. He told me someone would be out that weekend...No one showed up. It was not until3 days later on Tuesday when he showed back up. At this time, the quote went up. We still said okay because we were trusting Mr. Beardsley to be a man of his work with good company. At this time, he requested more money to keep working. I told him we gave money on the cash app and he still had the check. On Sept 9 he told me he tore up the check, we believed Mr. Beardsley to be honest at this time and he tore up the check. Mr. Beardsley sent us a request for more money to continue working, which we paid. Mr. Beardsley called and said the job was complete and he would need the rest of the money. I told him no problem, that I would need completed pictures of the work because we live out of town and that I would send a home inspector by to make sure everything was done correctly. It should have been a red flag when Mr. Beardsley did not want anyone coming out to check his work. When the home inspector went out to the home he discovered a mess and leaking pipes under the home. What Mr. Beardsley did not realize we just had the home inspected by a licensed inspector due to work that had been done on the house on 8/19/2021. The inspector checked all the plumbing under the house and there was not a single leak until Mr. Beardsley worked on the home. The inspector stated Mr. Beardsley had run new pipes and not sealed them together. At this time the inspector took video and pictures of the incomplete work and I sent them to Mr. Beardsley to have this corrected to get paid. Mr. Beardsley put in a text that his guy probably did not glue it, then he said he did not do it, I had to share the inspection report from 8/19/2021 to prove there were no leaks and this had been caused by Beardsley pluming. After Mr. Beardsley realized that we had the inspection report and the proof this was done by his company, he agreed to fix it. We agreed on 9/22/2021 someone would be there to make the repair, On 9/20/21, I sent a text to confirm someone would be at the house to do the work at 3:30 at this time Mr. Beardsley said yes and the he would give me back my check. This is odd because he told me he tore it up on 9/9/2021 but I let it go because I was under the impression I was getting the check back. On 9/22/2021 at 5:58 PM, I sent a text to Mr. Beardsley asking where they were. He told me they were still working. I asked to come at 8:00 AM in the morning he said no problem. Mr. Beardsley did show up the next day but not at the scheduled time. The work under the house was worked on but the sewer caps were not installed. If you have a sewer you know it's extremely important for these to be installed correctly because you do not want a child to fall down into the sewer. I let Mr. Beardsley know this was not done again, he tried to deny the work and I had to provide the proof for him to come back out. Mr. Beardsley said he would have someone out Friday, I said great. I will have someone out Saturday to check to make sure it's done. Saturday when I had the home inspector back out, Mr. Beardsley company had someone out working but the work was not complete. The home inspector told him what would need to be done and the plumber said okay. At this time, Mr. Beardsley started texting about full payment. I had to explain that his guy was still there working and the job had not been complete yet. Mr. Beardsley said he did not know this, I then explained I would have the home inspector go out on Monday to make sure it is done. Well, today is Monday, Mr. Beardsley starts texting about his final payment, I explain I have not heard from the inspector that he would be out. Also, I explain how I have done everything I said I would do but his company has not done the same. At this time, I ask about my check and send him the text stating the one he sent that he tore it up and then the one saying he still had it. Mr. Beardsley responded he was shredding the check. I stated the check had to be returned to me due to the fact that he had lied previously about destroying the check and it was unfortunate but I have lost creditability with him. At the time of this communication, the inspector had not been to the house. Once the inspector go to the house, the leaks had been repaired however the sewer cap is still not installed correctly. I have sent Mr. Beardsley a text stating this is still not done and he has not responded. I share my experience with you to hope I save someone from receiving the same awful experience I have with this company. Mr. Beardsley will attempt to harass for payment but does not do the work correctly. Buyers be aware if you choose to use this man. He will lie, try to rip you off, and not complete the work correctly.
