Kiffmann's Maui Elite Taekwondo Center

Maui's premier Olympic Taekwondo school has been in service for over 20 years. World class instruction by four Kukkiwon/World certified masters at great rates in a family friendly environment

For over two decades the Kiffmanns have been teaching Taekwondo on Maui. They opened the first WTF/USAT certified Taekwondo school on the island. Their commitment to Taekwondo excellence, vigorous training and discipline, have created some of the best martial artists and Taekwondo athletes. The Kiffmanns are internationally recognized martial artists and are consultants to several foreign Taekwondo schools.
They also hold seminars for teams from India and host the annual Maui Open Taekwondo Championship. This international event gives Maui’s Taekwondo kids a chance to meet fellow practitioners from as far away as Slovenia, Croatia, India or even Nigeria. The Kiffmanns have produced hundreds of U.S. National and many International Taekwondo Medalists.

We are a school that guarantees better focus and discipline in every student that joins our program. And with distractions like videogames and television invading western society, Taekwondo becomes the ultimate force in keeping the student centered and focused on important goals. Our students greatly improve in areas of scholastic endeavors, fitness and mental levels and family relationships.
But the benefits don’t stop there. Within 6 months of training, greater self-confidence and self-esteem levels arise in the student, giving them the motivation to achieve success in areas they did not believe possible. The shy and timid students begin to converse more freely and confidently, the over-active student begins to control their impulses, and those that are used to giving up when things get tough, learn to persevere until they overcome frustration.
Bullying continues to be a big challenge for kids and adults alike. Our school provides the student with sound solutions to better deal with the problem by offering mental and physical skills for handling conflicts of all kinds. Our program works for bullies as well. We have had instances where the bully and his prey ended up in the same class. By training side by side with our black belt role models, bullies quickly realize that their behavior was wrong and end up being role models to other potential bullies.
But Taekwondo is NOT just for kids. Adult students gain amazing levels of fitness, energy and positive attitudes by practicing with us. The middle aged student regains their youthful attitude and outlook and in turn creates a whole new world of possibilities for themselves. THE KIFFMANNS

MASTER KATHRYN KIFFMANN was born in 1962 in California and is a 6th Dan Kukkiwon certified black belt. She has been actively involved in Taekwondo for over 30 years either as a competitor, instructor, or stunt coordinator. In 1999, she was awarded the "Letter of Appreciation" for Understanding of Korean Culture and promoting Taekwondo by the Republic of Korea. She won gold medals 7-times at US Nationals, 4-times at US Open and one time at the USA World Martial Arts Championship. Master Kathryn is the ultimate motivator in the dojang and is a true representation of indomitable spirit.

MASTER GUNTER KIFFMANN was born in 1962 in Austria. He permanently moved to the USA in 1988. He is a 6th Dan Kukkiwon certified black belt, head coach for the Maui Elite National Taekwondo Team and tournament director of the annual Maui Open Taekwondo Championship. His international competition highlights include 3 gold medals at the US Open and 6 gold medals at US Nationals.

MASTER MILES KIFFMANN was born in 1993 in California and is the youngest Kukkiwon certified 5th Dan Black Belt in Hawaii. His highest awards include a Gold and a Bronze medal at the US Open and a Silver Medal at the Korea Open. Master Miles is the assistant coach to the competition team. He is responsible for much of its success through his pursuit of excellence and innovation of sparring techniques and strategies.
