Our emphasis is on creating a fun-loving,
close-knit environment that draws out the
students’ love for dance. Students acquire a
heart for dance that embraces technique and
increases their skill level. Learning in the arts
is student centered; children are encouraged
to explore their thoughts, ideas, and experiences
and translate them into movement.
For young children, focus is on process
rather than product; this approach enables
students to develop their self-confidence and
to trust themselves and others in the creative
process. The dancers absorb ballet fundamentals
as they play games and use interesting
props like scarves, hula-hoops and balls. The
skills they learn in these beginning classes build
the foundation and passion for all forms of
dance. With older children, the product is,
in part, the reward. More attention is
placed on technique, vocabulary and style as
the student discovers the power of live
performance.
We also offer a loads of dance/dance fitness classes, personal training, and private lessons for adults. First Position is a perfect venue for parties, celebrations and we throw a heck of a birthday party!

Products Carried: Dance classes for children include: Creative Dance, Ballet, Teen Beg. Ballet, Pointe, Modern/Jazz, Hip Hop, Urban Styles, Tap, Tumbling, Aerial Silks, Dance Performance Companies, Jazz and private lessons. Classes for adults include: Zumba, Zumba Toning (a little strength training), Barre, Fly Girl Fit, Tap and adding more as requested. Personal training, private lessons for your special event, space rental for hosting celebrations and parties. We throw fabulous birthday parties!

Atmosphere: Fun, community and family centered, all foundational material is taught in a relaxed manner that may look like chaos but it is highly organized, Where Every "Body" is Welcome, safe space, a home away from home, smiles and laughter and stunning dancers in training. Dance fitness boutique for adults without all the hype. Each dancer/client competes with his/herself...am I better than I was the last time I was in class? How can I reach the next level? I know ask the expert, the dance educator!

Amenities: Lovely space with loads of natural light and a truly welcoming atmosphere. 4 dance studios, comfy waiting room with a tv monitor to watch classes in progress, veiwing windows, professional yet welcoming and warm (often hilarious!) teachers/dancers and a professional office staff.
