Backyard Bbq

Backyard BBQ & Restaurant combines great flavors and experienced business leaders with a new location and name. Backyard BBQ opened this April at 454 East Baltimore Street. The facility was completely remodeled into a spacious, 48-seat restaurant with a handicap-accessible parking lot in front. The business is owned and operated by Harry Dougherty Jr., his wife JoAnn, their daughter Tracey Godfrey, and her husband Scott. On the restaurant menu, Dougherty and Godfrey have combined over 60 years of experience in cooking to bring tasty options to customers. The Backyard BBQ menu includes ribs, pulled chicken and pork, beef BBQ, seafood, fresh hamburger and hot dogs. Fresh French fries, sweet potato fries and homemade pit salads are accompaniment items. Dessert options include pies, cakes, and 24 flavors of Hershey’s Ice Cream. In the kitchen of Backyard BBQ, high-quality meats cook slowly over apple wood, giving menu items a mouthwatering taste. Briskets roast for up to eight hours and pit meats bake for 14 hours at low temperatures to retain tenderness. Made-from-scratch rubs and BBQ sauces add extra savor to meats. In the restaurant dining area, a flat-screen television provides game-time entertainment. Also, diners can enjoy the warmth of the restaurant’s fireplace. Beyond its doors, Backyard BBQ caters a variety of events from company picnics and fundraisers to family reunions and weddings.
