If you want to solve your IRS issues, call them. If you’re looking to waste time and keep placing your IRS issues on hold, don’t give them a call. They know their stuff and they helped me recover. I was a truck driver back in the late 90s and I ended filing all of my tax years in 2000 as soon as I filed Bankruptcy… that was a mistake. The IRS concluded I owed $64,000. Their lawyer work determined that considering that I am now retired and on fixed income, I can no longer pay for this. I wouldn't even think to fight the IRS by myself. I tried to give them a call and even that was a task within itself. I’d talk to a different guy every time I called and they never cared about my problem or perhaps helping me to resolve it.
