Why the salon, more importantly, why at home? Our health is something we all need to pay more attention to. The politically current (not necessarily correct) word, reform, denotes change. Yes, most of us to need to pay attention and make changes for ourselves. Home is where we can start by recognizing the things that can make us ill and the things that make us feel and look good (or great!) Our health depends on us using our brains and learning about options. It also means, utilizing simple, from the earth ingredients to enhance our well-being. I hope with my workshops and my partnership with Hawaiian inspired knowledge helps me to help others and not waste our plant sources. I am not trying to portray myself as an expert, but I do have a few resources for you to explore ways in which to possibly help you feel and look better. First, the name, " Presentations" represents my goal of helping prepare people present themselves as beautiful presents, to themselves and others through the art and practice of cosmetology. Beauty includes wellness in all of it various forms, physical, spiritual and mental. Hence, I have purposefully combined the art of finding the best in each client and maintaining that "presentation" of themselves. The beauty business can be full of false promises in its' advertising and its' products. Frequently, those promises are even unhealthy and only promise a "quick fix" that in fact can be harmful to the largest organ of the body, the skin. Any product you put on your skin is absorbed into the bloodstream. That is why since the beginning of my cosmetology career over 30 years, I have always tried to use conscientious products that do no harm. My organic approach is an attempt to find out what really works and promotes overall mental, spiritual and physical wellness and beauty. "Health Care Reform Begins at Home!" Taking the time to slow down and take stock of what is going on with your own body is the first step to creating wellness and beauty. We cannot heal and be beautiful until we learn to relax and let our bodies recover from everyday stresses and have a "moment" to recover and reflect.
