Tozzophoto

Roy Caratozzolo is a photographic artist originally from Teaneck, NJ, and currently living in Hackensack, NJ. Discovering an interest in art and photography while in High School, Roy began to photograph for the Yearbook, school newspaper, and for creative purposes.

Roy graduated with a bachelors degree in Fine Art from The University of Connecticut, where he learned the fundamentals of photography, lighting, and composition. Roy supplemented his artistic studies by also learning desktop publishing and web design. After college, Roy worked with various publishing and advertising firms, honing his creative eye, while also further developing his photographic art. From 2007-2010 Roy was a Staff Photographer with the North Jersey Media Group. He also has a popular "Street Photography" website (tozzophoto.com) where he showcases his current work.

Roy found that it is important to explore our environment by looking in-between the cracks, by turning over each rock, and revealing places that are disregarded. Through photography he isolates the scenes that best represent a moment he felt. He titles each image to help define his emotion. This is a release as much as it is a challenge; all the while motivated by constant adaptation to the ever evolving world he exists within.

Roy has over 10 years of experience in Production Management, Pre-Press, and Digital Quality Control in the Advertising, Magazine, and Book Publishing Industry. Highlights include managing over 10 book titles with Peoples Publishing Group, developing an online marketing system to promote Cosmetic Dentist websites for Sandhu & Company, and performing visual quality control for all Verizon Wireless in-store materials while at McCann-Erickson New York. Roy also supervised the accurate placement of advertisements within all Wainscot Media magazine editions, and prepared all press-quality PDF files for The Daily Deal.

Roy has over 10 years of Graphic Arts Production experience in the Magazine, Internet Marketing, and Book Publishing Industry. Highlights include producing various textbooks, workbooks, catalogs, and promotional materials for Peoples Publishing Group, Web Site Tile Ads for Microsoft New York Sidewalk, and Graphical Cosmetic Dentist websites for 1-800-BEST-DDS. Roy also created press kits for The Association for a Better New York and MECA, and prepared animated GIFs for The Deal, LLC.

Roy has over 10 years of experience with Search Engine Optimization and Website Production. Highlights include online advertising campaigns utilizing Google Adwords for 1-800-BEST-DDS Cosmetic Dentist websites, and SEO portfolio web sites for hedcut.com and New York City Photo Walk.

Roy has over 30 years experience with Computer Technical Support and Training. Learning computers at a young age, Roy has been able to master the “art” of how computers and software function in both Windows and Macintosh environments. While not a programmer, Roy is a “power user” and can install hardware, configure, and build systems for various needs. Professional experience includes Photo Desk Editing, Telephone Internet Technical Support for IDT, and Desktop Technical Support Manager for Peoples Publishing Group and 1-800-BEST-DDS.
