El guero canelo was started by the Contreras family in 1993. the restaurant was started based on an idea from, denial's wife, Blanca contreras, while on a trip to Mexico. deniel and blanca spoke of having a mexican restaurant where carne asada and Mexican hot dogs would be sokd. the goal was to provide the best authentic mexican cuisinge available within the Tucson area. thus Behan the legendary El guero canelo 6'*8' taco stand.
