About Apple Valley Veterinarian

Apple Valley Veterinarians LLC has been serving the Southington area for more than a quarter of a century. We are conveniently located just off exit 29 of I-84 West on route 10. We concentrate on the diagnosis, care, and treatment of dogs and cats. Our aim is to offer the very best standard of care and grooming services to all of our clients. This includes the thorough assessment of patient comfort as well as the use of appropriate pain medication post surgically. We emphasize continuing education for both veterinary and support staff and modernization of equipment necessary to maintain this standard. We make every effort to live up to our practice mission statement: ?We are dedicated to providing compassionate, quality, modern, professional care for all of our patients.? It is important that your pet has his or her wellness exam on a yearly basis. Problems can occur at any time in a pet?s life, and it is important that the doctors have a baseline so that we can assess changes to your pet?s health. In addition to a complete physical examination, a wellness blood test, heartworm check when appropriate, and fecal check for intestinal parasites are routinely done to make sure your dog or cat is healthy. The wellness blood work gives the doctors important information about your pet?s liver and kidney functions and absence of anemia and is a good way to find problems before serious signs can be observed. Yearly vaccines- Protection against diseases is a top priority for us at Apple Valley Vets. That is why it is important for your dog or cat to be vaccinated against diseases that could be harmful to both your pet and you. Vaccinations offered for our canine patients include Rabies, Distemper, Borreliosis (Lyme Disese), Adenovirus, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Coronavirus, Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough, but not all of these might be appropriate for every individual. Our feline patients are offered Panleukopenia (Distemper), Feline Leukemia, and Rabies. Once the animal is a little older the vaccines are rotated on a 3 year schedule to reduce the possibility of vaccine reactions. Your pet will be vaccinated every year, but not with all of the vaccines. Special Lab tests- Sometimes non routine laboratory tests are needed to help diagnose pet problems. These may include endocrine studies, cytology and biopsies, electrolytes, and others. These test are performed when more information is needed to diagnose and give an accurate prognosis for your pet and to set up an appropriate treatment plan.
