Dr. Millie Tannen has an unwavering focus on her patients’ comfort and care. Her genuine concern for her patients is apparent in how she attends to their dental health while they are in her care at her Jacksonville office. As a highly experienced oral sedation dentist, she is skilled in the practice of reduced anxiety dentistry. Dr. Tannen completed her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She stayed in the state and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia. A job transfer for her husband brought Dr. Tannen and her family to Jacksonville, where she has been in private practice since 1982, excelling as a cosmetic, dental implant, and oral sedation dentist.

Aware of the constant procedural and technological advancements in the field of dentistry, Dr. Millie Tannen has an extremely strong commitment to never stop learning. In 2008, she earned a Mastership award from the Academy of General Dentistry. This required her to pass an examination and complete 1100 hours of continuing education courses, of which 400 hours were in hands-on courses in specific fields of dentistry. Only 1% of dentists in the United States have achieved this honor. Completing the requirements for this award has had a profound influence on Dr. Tannen's practice and has enhanced the lives of many of her patients.

Her education has included courses taken at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI Global), one of the world's premier post-graduate teaching centers. At LVI, Dr. Tannen was trained not only in the latest cosmetic dentistry techniques, but also in how to focus on the unique concerns and goals of each patient to create each individual’s perfect smile. At her Jacksonville practice, patients benefit from her extensive training as a cosmetic dentist.
