Mr. Dato served as an Assistant State Attorney Hillsborough County for more than eight years. During the time Mr. Dato was an Assistant State Attorney he served as a lead trial attorney for Domestic Violence Division, Deputy Felony Chief and Deputy Chief of Narcotics Division.

During Mr. Dato’s time with the State Attorney, he tried murder cases, violent felony cases, drug and trafficking cases, robbery cases, DUI’s, and other crimes in over 75 jury trials.

After Mr. Dato left the State Attorney’s Office, he worked for prestigious civil litigation firms, focusing on business litigation and construction law.

Mr. Dato opened his own practice in 2003 and has been putting his experience to work for the citizens of Tampa.
