Grief Relief: Healing the Heart and Soul with Yoga and Sound
Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Satori Yoga Studio
110 Sutter Street, Suite 100 San Francisco CA, 94104
Come join Amy Swart and Minna Sivola for an afternoon of therapeutic yoga and sound healing to tend to our grief, fear, and discomfort in uncertainty. Leave feeling more supported in community and connected to your inner resources.
Are you impacted by the recent national public tragedies and feel helpless, anxious, and in shock? Have you lost a loved one, or multiple loves, and feel stuck in grief, or numbed out from feeling your grief? You are not alone. This retreat was created just for you.
Wherever there is grief, there is an opportunity to accept what is undeniably part of your world now. It can be hard to embrace a "new normal." By coming together in community, we can make space for ourselves and each other to acknowledge, accept, heal, and make sense of our individual losses, together.
Learn breathing exercises and yoga poses to help you cope with the heavy emotions of loss and dip into a bath of sound to ease the grieving heart. Together we will explore creative ways to contact, express and move through grief both individually and in a group. Join us in a circle of non-judgement and kindness as we uniquely and authentically honor loss in its many shapes and forms.
Former retreat participants have described their experiences as “nourishing to the mind and body -- a good container"; "supportive, connecting, and inspiring"; "cleansing, and healing"; and "welcoming and comfortable."
Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing for gentle yoga poses. Please bring a journal, something to write with, and object of significance for the grief altar.
Fee: $90* / $80 for early bird registration by November 4 (*no one will be turned away due to lack of funds)
