Birds Of A Feather Resort Community

Birds of a Feather is a special, magical place–your dream come true! Our community, founded in 2004, is a gay and lesbian community like no other in the world located in the “Land of Enchantment”, sunny Northern New Mexico.

Our LGBT community began as a vision by its founder, Bonnie McGowan, to create a thoughtful community development as a haven for people of like minds. Our community is made up of people who care about environmentally responsible living; an active and healthy lifestyle; and forming strong social connections when we need them most–as we are aging.
We are currently offering a few fabulous re-sale lots in Phase I, as well as several of our newly created lots in Phase II, which are available for our floorplans or your custom built home. All of our lots are pine-forested and most have magnificent views!

Most of our current community residents and lot owners (ages 45 & up) are planning on "aging in place", ie: staying in their homes as they age. Our homes are designed with aging in mind and our community supports staying physically fit and active. Our residents enjoy hiking on our 140-acre property, as well as gathering to share meals, celebrate birthdays and holidays, playing games or golfing and traveling together.

Products Carried: Our first development phase consisted of eighteen ¼ to one-acre lots designed for homes of three design types; "Casitas", EcoNests and Single-Family Homes. All eighteen lots were sold to gays and lesbians from all over the country between 2004 to 2006. Since then, eight homes have been built and they represent each type of housing available in the community; 3 casitas, 2 EcoNests and 3 custom designed single family homes. We are also offering several lots in Phase II of our LGBT community!

Brands Carried: Magnificent pine forested lots ranging in size from 1/4 to 3+ acres... many with mountain views in our gated LGBT community!
