I would really hope that Ms Vanessa can take some accountability at this point for cultural misappropriation.
You’ve deleted posts and pictures and pages, but by not acknowledging what you’ve done, you’re not taking responsibility and you’re saying that the voices of Native people need to just “go away”.

I would hope that if one of your children called another child a n***er, that you would not only allow your child to accept disciplinary action for his or her own actions, but also I would hope that you would have a serious talk with that child to explain why that was unacceptable in the first place. Because at the end of the day I would hope you would want your child to grow into a responsible, kind, and considerate adult.

You have made it clear that you do not consider native voices important enough to actually be “heard”.
Most importantly you don’t seem to be grasping why exactly this is wrong and is not taking steps towards accountability.

What you have done is gone beyond cultural appropriation. You are actually guilty of cultural misappropriation, which is when one culture engages in the unauthorized taking of some aspects of another culture. Appreciating the imagery of headdresses is fine. Wearing a headdress when you have not been authorized to wear one by a recognized leader of an Indigenous community in which headdresses are earned and the feathers have symbolic meaning is misappropriation.

There is some confusion as to whether non natives can wear native-created jewelry and such. Wearing turquoise is fine. Yes, you can wear turquoise. If you bought some beaded earring from a seller on Etsy, that is fine. If your native friend gifted you with native jewelry, it is ok. But you cannot create a small business and call your work Navajo or Dine inspired, or print native-style textiles on shirts and sell them as native american fashion just because your hipster friends think it’s cool.
If you want to support native american businesses and artists, that is ok. Allow Native American artists to reclaim their right to determine what is “native american” fashion and art.
But it is certainly not your place do to what you’ve done.
