I have a 23 year old Whirlpool combo washer-dryer. The washing machine spin cycle stopped working, and the dryer vent tore and needed to be replaced. Before joining Angie's List, I had called a number of repair services, but they seemed unfamiliar with my model and I wasn't comfortable with their responses to my questions, nor with the estimates I was getting just to come out and look at it. David at Paul's Washer & Dryer Repair returned my call promptly, got specific info on the machine, and took the time to answer all my questions. We talked about the machine's problems and he gave me a reasonable estimate based on my description of what was happening with it. And then he told me that, at the machine's age, there were many more things likely to go wrong with it in the not-so-distant future, and suggested I'd be better off replacing it rather than repairing it (if I could afford to do so). I really appreciated his honest assessment and recommendation, and will definitely use this company if anything ever happens to the new machine I plan on buying shortly.

I do considerable research on all home projects, which lead me to call Paul's Service. There are several do-it-yourself website which indicated that our "lid-switch," had failed. A few kind words for a kind company. Our General Electric dryer, quiet a few years old, was acting up in a rather puzzling manner to us as well as to another service provider. The confusing dryer would sometimes heat, work perfect, and other times be cold. We spoke with a service technician directly from Paul’s Washer and Dryer. In relatively short order he provided us with a diagnosis and an estimate. Upon arriving at our home, on-time, we were pleasantly surprised to experience a level of professionalism, we have not experienced in many a day. The dryer had a loose wire, sound easy, but simply not so. Our repair technician was determined to have uncover the source of the problem. David is not even out of the elevator in my building as I sit to write this. VERY professional expertise, but delivered with a folksy, comfortable manner. Minor leak in old stacking washer and dryer. Minor but chronic. David offered earlier appointments that I could not accept due to my work schedule and David showed up right when he said he would Monday morning. He knew immediately how to fix the problem and a couple of others, had the parts in his truck and even ordered a light bulb that I have not been able to replace for years, and years.
