There are many different fun and exciting things to do and see in Detroit, despite its current reputation. Read this list and discover all of the great things that the Motor City has to offer:

1. Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts is one of the best art museums in the country, with more than one hundred different galleries in its main building. It has a wide range of pieces from some of history's greatest artists, including van Gogh, Cezanne, and Diego Rivera.

2. Michigan Central Station

Michigan Central Station, which is designed in the same style as Grand Central Station, is where many movies, including Transformers was filmed, despite having fallen into disrepair.

3. Bell Isle

Belle Isle is one of Detroit's greatest parks, offering a spectacular view of both Detroit and Ontario, as well as an aquarium.

4. River Rouge Factory Tour

This factory tour sheds a light in the assembly line process that is used to build cards. This factory tour is located in Dearborn, MI, which is about twenty minutes away from Detroit.

5. Eastern Market

The Detroit Eastern Market has a wealth of locally grown fruits and vegetables for extremely reasonable prices, as well as breads, cheeses, meat, and flowers.

6. Motown Historical Museum

This museum has a ton of different exhibits that inform the visitor about the biggest stars in Motown. There is an exhibit for Motown's first recording studio as well, Studio A.

7. Dorothy Turkel House

The Dorothy Turkel House is one of Frank Lloyd Wright's creations and is currently being restored to its original glory. It is located in Palmer Woods, one of the more beautiful Detroit neighborhoods.

8. Fisher Building

The Fisher building, built in the Art Deco style, has a wide range of retailers and a beautiful ceiling.

9. Greektown

Greektown is home to Detroit's main casino, as well as a wealth of restaurants, bakeries, and bars.

10. Museum of Contemporary Art

Detroit's Museum of Contemporary Art has many different pieces in a wide variety of styles that reflect the changing art culture in Detroit.
