Aurora Charter Oak Hospital

Aurora Charter Oak is a free-standing psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center providing mental health and substance abuse services to adults and adolescents.

We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley. The San Gabriel Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to our campus, which includes Aurora Charter Oak Hospital and the Charter Oak Recovery Center. Our campus includes three separate buildings featuring eight separate units for adolescents and adults requiring inpatient care, a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), an Outpatient Services building, and an Assessment Center which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our campus also includes a pool and a gymnasium.

We proudly celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2016. "Charter Oak Lodge" opened its doors in 1941 and we have been providing behavioral health treatment services at this same location ever since.

We accept most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Medi-Cal is accepted only for individuals up to age 20, or age 65+.
