I specialize in client-centered, criminal-defense representation. As your attorney, I will keep you informed at every step of the process. Your life story is compelling and essential to my effective representation of you. Criminal courthouses are filled to the brims every day and an essential part of my zealous representation of you is to make sure the prosecutor, the judge, and the jury know that you are more than just a number. I am an effective advocate at every stage of the criminal process, including post-conviction work and clearing of criminal records. I will attack your case from every possible angle. I work each new case as though I am preparing for trial from the day I am hired. This starts with my review of the State’s evidence against you. This evidence likely includes the officer’s report of the basis for your arrest, photographs, 911 audio, surveillance video, patrol car dash-cam video, or witness statements. You will receive a written case summary from me in which I explain the potential consequences of the charge you are facing and the State’s current case against you. Throughout this process, I will also advise you on the punishment that the State offers in exchange for a guilty plea. After discussing this summary, we begin our attack. Your case may call for an attack before it is even indicted - at the grand jury stage. Here, we can emphasize to the grand jury why you should not be held accountable for the crime with which you have been charged. This emphasis may come through your lack of criminal history, through the affidavits of witnesses to the incident, or affidavits of people who know that the charged crime is out of character for you. Your case may also be attacked on the basis of police misconduct, namely, an unauthorized search of your person or your property. We will begin this attack by discussing the bad search with the prosecutor in seeking a dismissal. If this is unsuccessful, we will then prepare for a hearing in which we will argue to the judge that the State should not be able to use the evidence against you because it is the product of a bad search. Other areas of attack may include victim or witness credibility, lack of evidence linking you to the charged crime, and untruthful police officers. Bottom Line: I am ready, willing, and eager to fight for you from the day that I am hired. Holly Kuchera, Attorney at Law 4545 Mt Vernon St Houston, TX 77006 (832) 324-5187 http://www.kucheralaw.com
