Mission Hospice is in Need of Office and Patient Visitor Volunteers!
What is hospice?
Hospice is a unique type of healthcare designed to give dignity, comfort and quality of life to people who are facing a terminal illness. Mission Hospice provides patients with professional doctors, nurses, home health aids, social workers, chaplains and volunteer coordination. These are just some of the services that Mission Hospice provides. Mission Hospice serves all of Los Angeles County.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers provide friendly visits to our patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living centers, in their own homes or in the hospital. Volunteers may give a family member who is taking care of an ill person, a much needed rest, by sitting with the patient while they go out to do errants or just do some gardening.
Volunteers can read the paper, share hobbies, just listen, talk and share stories, bring flowers from your garden, share talents, share photos, play games, do crafts, watch movies, sing or do office work.
