Educational Museum Guides & Retail Help (St Augustine, FL)
compensation: $8 an hr training. Starting pay is $10 per tour, pay increases based on performance
We are looking for "characters" to be tour guides at our interactive museum. Must be articulate and comfortable with public speaking and be able to engage and entertain all age groups. Our educational guides take school groups (primarily fourth graders) through one hour museum tours in five different areas. It is helpful if you are already interested and well-versed in St. Augustine history, but not necessary if you're willing to learn. These positions are seasonal, though the right candidate may be eligible for more. We love students, retirees, and anyone that can handle the ebb and flow of our tour schedules. Moms or Dads with kids in school? This job can work for you! Some days you might have one tour, another day you might have five. We offer tours from 8:00 am up to 8:00 pm five days a week. Right now we specifically need people that can work weekday shifts from 9 to 5. We are looking for specific personalities and traits to keep our kids enthused, entertained and educated. Because we work with children, applicants must pass background check, drug testing and references will be checked. We need only people of GOOD CHARACTER with excellent references. Training will begin immediately and the busy season will start in March and end in June. Period appropriate costumes are your uniform here, and most work is done outside. You should be able to stand and walk all day indoors and out. In return, we'll offer you a flexible schedule, a great place to work, and some extra cash in your pocket!
