We are looking for an Assistant Designer to join our team.
In this fast paced, exciting role, the Assistant Designer will assist the Designer in setting up prints for local printing in Illustrator, helping to fulfill CAD requests as per the Designer’s direction, filing purchase orders, sourcing fabrics and trims in the local market and working with Production Department to get them into development, creating appliques in Illustrator, embellishing garments (hand tacking flowers and trims onto garments), and assisting with internet research of trends and how to interpret them for our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work in Adobe Illustrator to set up print pitch sheets. Accurately fill out pitch sheets by including measurements, choosing pantone colors to match the print, swatching, filing fabric detail and correspond with local printers. Help to create graphics and appliques for apparel.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The ideal candidate should have an eye for fashion and color. Must be comfortable and proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, creating basic repeats, cropping files and indexing colors. Candidate must be capable of organizing, working independently, multi tasking on time-sensitive projects. Minimum 1-3 years of children's wear experience. AA or BA in Fashion Design required.
