Meetings are every Thursday from 6:30 - 9:00 pm except holidays, during the State Fair, or when the Sedalia School District closes during inclement weather. The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) conducts three primary programs: Emergency Services and Civil Support, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs. Sedalia supports all three programs but with emphasis on the Cadet Program to transform local youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders. CAP accomplishes its Congressionally-mandated Cadet Program (Title 36, U.S.C. § 40302) through a curriculum of leadership, aerospace, fitness, and character. The program follows a military model and emphasizes Air Force traditions and values. Today’s cadets are tomorrow’s aerospace leaders. Five key traits of cadet life inform commanders on the desired look and feel of cadet activities and how they should conduct the Cadet Program: The uniform, aerospace theme, opportunity to lead, challenge, and fun.
