Founded in 1985, CRIZMAC Art & Cultural Education Materials, Inc. began as a publishing company dedicated to the creation of art and cultural curriculum resources for schools and institutions. As the years progressed, we developed a catalog, expanded into the world of folk art, and continued to add new products, including children’s literature, music, and resources for teachers and artists. Today CRIZMAC offers a wide selection of folk art from around the world. Our clientele consists of fellow art lovers, folk art collectors, art teachers, classroom teachers, parents, and students. Welcome to the CRIZMAC Marketplace and Gallery, a unique retail shop that features local artists and artists from around the world. It offers a selection of Oaxacan woodcarvings, Mata Ortiz pottery, global folk art, jewelry, scarves, purses, children’s books, art books for adults and gift items. Many items are one-of-kind. The CRIZMAC Gallery is available for exhibitions and as a rental space for classes, meetings, and events. CRIZMAC offers art and cultural trips for the general public and teachers. Yearly trips are offered to Santa Fe, New Mexico. An annual trip to Oaxaca, Mexico for Days of the Dead occurs in November. CRIZMAC also offers comprehensive global art education curriculum including lessons about Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Amazon, Mexico, and Days of the Dead. CRIZMAC also offers books, games and folk art for teachers. The folk art is from Mexico, Cambodia, Peru, Africa, and Indonesia. The art lessons are also suitable for social studies, craft, and world history classes. Hands-on art activities are included.
