"While visiting my son in Tulsa, OK, I stayed at the Hilton Tulsa Southern Hills location from Dec. 17th to the 21st 2009. The first morning I was there, I attempted to plug in my laptop to the outlet to the right of the desk. There was an obstuction there which appeared to be a metal prong from a previous plug so I checked the plug on the left of the desk and found a vacant receptacle. When I attempted to plug in my computer, sparks flew from the plug. Then my computer would not turn on. I called for maintanence and an engineer was sent up to my room to see what was wrong. He told me that the metal prong in the right outlet which was on the same ciruit as the outlet on the left had completed the circuit and caused the sparks from the other outlet. I took my computer to Office Depot and was told that my Internal Energy System was 'fried'. Nicole Quatlebaum, the Human Resource person at Hilton, took my statement sent the infomation to Zurich Ins.Co., Hilton's insurance company. My claim was denied. I still hold Hilton responsible for my computer and as of this date I have received NO satisfaction from their insurance company nor Hilton. I was told that there was no residue from the sparks on the outlet. My homeowners insurance agent tells me that not always will a spark leave resisdue. I STILL hold Hilton responsible for my computer failure!! One question I have for Hilton...."why would they have had me move to another room if in fact they thought I should not remain in that room?" I am a 73 year old lady who does NOT go around trying to 'get to' ANYONE!!! I live on a fixed income and I'm quite sure the cost of my computer would NOT hurt Hilton's profit margin!!!"
