My boyfriend and I were so poorly treated, we were astonished at the ignorance of the restaurant owner to treat ANY customer the way they treated us. I live in Hollywood beach year round. I am a frequent customer of theirs. We called in a take-out order. When we got there to pick it up, we asked for a bottle of saki to take-out also. They said they were not allowed to give it to us. So we ordered one to drink out on their patio. After sitting there a few minutes, we decided to go ahead and eat THEIR sushi with THEIR saki at THEIR table. Two waitresses came out to tell us it was "against policy" to allow us to eat our "take-out" there. My boyfriend said he would tip the waitress, and that we had changed our minds and would like to eat there. The owner or manager came out with fury in his face. The restaurant was EMPTY. We were eating their food and drinking their saki!! We explained we would tip the waitress and that we had changed our minds because we could not take the saki to go. The owner or manager insulted us telling us we were bad customers. He would not listen to my boyfriend try to explain we would do right by the waitresses, and that we simply changed our minds. This man continued to insult us telling us what horrible customers we are. I told the man that I live here, and eat their sushi all the time. He did not care. Stupid. Ignorant. Angry. Awful man. He forced us to leave. My boyfriend tried to reason with him kindly, gently, and offered him a $20 telling him we would gladly pay for the service to eat there at that table, and had told the other waitresses the same thing. The man insulted my boyfriend again and again telling him his money is worthless. At that point, I could not take it anymore. This was absolutely unjust! I stood and told the man I would never come back, and would share this story on the internet, because that place, Sushi and Thai on the Beach, in Hollywood, Florida, is the most hateful, small-minded, insulting, ignorant, restaurant owners I have EVER experienced. We were so insulted! SO MISTREATED! The bad vibes must go into that fish they serve! I would question the integrity and quality of the fish if this is how poorly they think of their customers.
