Merry'S Custom Cakes

A lifetime of study in the arts, design, and fine sugar craft techniques are skillfully blended to bring together exquisitely delicious and stunningly beautiful cakes for you enjoyment. Expert assistance from Master Confectioner' Merry Lininger will help to create special confections uniquely yours. After receiving awards for her home economic and design skills in 1973, Merry entered Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. to continue her study of art, confectionery technique and home economic skills. Following time devoted to her family and extended personal study in sugarcrafting, Merry opened Merry's Custom Cakes in 1988. The bakery is a "legally separate" at home, but not in home bakery built onto the front of Merry's residence. It is conveniently located three miles from downtown Stroudburg with easy access from Rt. 209, Pa. Interstate 80, Rt. 33 and Rt. 611. Clients enjoy avoiding the hassle of the heavy downtown traffic. The bakery portrays a cozy and charming environment. All work is done custom order to guarantee freshness. Fully licensed and inspected by the State of Pennsylvania, Merry is proud of her immaculate facilities and inspection record. Creator of over five thousand wedding and over fifty thousand special occasion cakes, Merry has mastered a complete line of confectionery skills, including fondants, chocopan, white chocolate draping, rolled buttercream, marzipan modeling, color flow technique, pulled sugar, airbrushing, cake sculpting and sugarpaste flowers. Throughout her career Merry has studied under such masters as Francis Kuyper, the "Cake Lady" of California. Diane Marchese Fedrow, of the International Sugar Art Collection school owned and operated by famous Master Cake Artist Nicholas Lodge, and master confectioners at The House Of Clarendon. Merry is a member of I.C.E.S., the International Cake Exploration Societe' and is devoted to furthering the art of sugarcraft and the continued advancement of technique, tools and equipment for cakes artists everywhere. Merry has designed numerous cakes for celebrity's including President Bill Clinton and wife Senator Hillary Clinton, Buddy Hackett, Lennox Lewis, Phil Collins, Freddie Jackson and the cast of Jerseylicious. In 2004, Merry designed a very unique wedding cake for Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine. She receives requests from clients around the world and collaborates and works on cakes with other experienced decorators. In April 2006 Merry was honored to serve as a judge for a special cake competition sponsored by the Food Network TV. Merry has received recognition for her work by the International Cake Exploration Societe', the Pocono Mountain Chamber of Commerce, the American Cancer Society, Perfect Bride Magazine, Pocono Bride Magazine, Lehigh Valley Weddings Magazine, Philadelphia Brides Magazine, Lehigh Valley Lifestyles Magazine, Modern Bride Magazine, "Getting Married with Connie" T.V. Show, Pocono Living Today TV Show, Pocono Weddings.com and the "Coffee Break with Kim Bell" show. She has also been featured in The Morning Call, The Pocono Record, Weddings In Style Magazine and Bride N Groom of The Pocono's Magazine. Merry has been awarded the title of" Pocono's Best Wedding Cakes" at the Pocono's Best Wedding Cake Competition. Merry remains sole designer for many prestigious restaurants and resorts and also creates cakes for some of Pennsylvania's and the nations top political representatives.
