Top layer of roof pulled off. No protective tarping was put on roof.
It rained heavily that night causing water damage. Water damage only remedied by dehumidifier machines. Cosmetic damage not offered to be repaired
After tarp installed it rained again and again water came in to the house.
Before new layer of roofing put on, SDR informed me that the wood sheet below the top layer of shingles (even though structurally fine) needed to be completely replaced as it was not nailed to code. This was not noted in my contract at all and my price doubled. I felt extorted as they threatened to abandon job site until sheeting replaced.
Rain gutter on house worked fine since 1961. Rain gutter was broke by SDR when removing. They didn’t think I noticed and attempted to charge me for rain gutter. They installed a new gutter incorrectly. It rained heavily and areas of my property were flooded and damaged. They had to come several times to fix. Finally they informed me I needed a new downspout that was never needed before. Since they couldn’t slope rain gutter correctly they demanded I put in a new downspout. They installed it but failed to connect it to my drainage claiming they were not responsible. This created much more expense on my side.
Throughout the project the cleanup was not adequately done. Nails and roofing material still being found to this day. I wrote a bad social media review and the owner insisted I take it down. I agreed to take review down if cleanup was done. This should have been done anyway.
Fast forward two years when I discovered a rat problem in my attic. It was determined by an extermination inspection that the rats were getting in through several areas of the roof that had not been sealed by San Diego Roofing.
Calling SDR now, the owner is not willing to complete the roofing work per their contractor’s license, warranty, and in good faith. Instead I was yelled at and he called my house a “loser” house. I am also assuming they will not honor their warranty if anything else comes up.
