Why do I need to sign a waiver?

Before your ultrasound at A Peek Inside, you must read and sign a mandatory waiver. This waiver states that we are not a medical facility and you are required to be already receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care. It includes asking your doctor information.

What happens if something is wrong with my baby?

A Peek Inside is not a medical facility. There will be no diagnostic results or medical advice given. Should something appear abnormal on the ultrasound, your obstetrician will be contacted immediately.

Is it necessary to have a full or empty bladder for successful ultrasound scans?

In the first trimester, yes, but you shouldn't be on the verge of having an accident. Second and third-trimester moms do not need a full bladder. While nothing is a guarantee, the best results are obtained when you are hydrated. Drink plenty of water starting 3 days before your appointment. Additionally, make sure you've eaten the day of your appointment.

Is an ultrasound safe?

Ultrasounds are safe if a registered technician who adheres to all the guidelines is conducting it. Deana, the owner of A Peek Inside, is a registered ultrasound technician with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). She has over 12 years of experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
