We had a very large tree fall in our yard and called united tree service. We had him look at 3 other trees on our property that we were concerned about. So the job would be to cut down three trees and cut up the one on the ground. Two of the trees were smaller trees and almost connected to each other. All the wood would stay on the property so they didn’t have to haul it away. He gave us a price of $2,400. To which we agreed. His men started working and for some stupid reason I gave him $2,400 in cash before the job was finished.
Well he left his men to work and came back a few hours later and announced he came up with the price to take down the big tree in our back yard .. $2,400. WHAT!!!! My husband and I went back and forth with him about that tree being included in the original $2,400 and he instead the tree in the back yard was not included. And he kept telling us our insurance would cover it so not to worry he’d make up the bill showing the price was just for the tree that fell.
So to take down three trees and cut up the one on the ground he wanted $4,800.00
We didn’t have the tree in the back yard taken down. We go estimates from three other tree service companies and they quoted us between $950 and $975 for the tree he wanted $2,400 for. So this just confirms for me the original price he gave us included the tree in the back yard.
There are a LOT of tree service companies out there, go to one of them.
