SpecialPets Healthcare Center LLC is a small animal veterinary practice in Pueblo, CO. Dr. Penelope Dukes, the owner and attending vet, grew up in a small town in the Midwest. Her career path started at the age of 8 when she first heard of a female veterinarian. After graduating Michigan State University in 1969, Dr. Dukes embarked on her current career in small animal medicine and surgery. She was a practice owner in the Park Hill area of Denver for 15 years before moving back to the Midwest to rear her son. She also accomplished her desire to own a mule (2 of them actually). When the nest was empty she and her husband returned to Colorado, settling in Pueblo in 2007. Dr. Dukes is thrilled with the opportunity to provide veterinary services for the community she lives in.
