EGAN Home Health and Hospice - Metairie / New Orleans area
EGAN Home Health and Hospice provides a wide range of high-quality in-home care services.
As the name suggests, two of EGAN's primary services offered are in
home health care and hospice care.
Home health care can entail a variety of services in and of itself. It can entail a range of specialists depending upon a patient's needs, including but not limited to, registered nurses, home health aids, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, respiratory therapists and wound care specialists.
Hospice care is care for the terminally ill. Terminally ill is defined as a given patient's life expectancy to be six months or less if the disease, illness or condition from which they suffer runs its natural course. Hospice care is not curative in nature, meaning hospice workers do not attempt to affirmatively help heal or cure the patients they treat. Rather, the purpose is to make them as comfortable as possible for the remainder of their lives, allowing them to spend quality time with family during one's final days, weeks or months on earth.
EGAN also provides private-duty home care, as well as personal and extended care.
EGAN recently opened up a pediatrics division that provides care to children with varying special needs.
EGAN Home Health and Hospice, formerly known as "EGAN Healthcare Services," was founded in 1988 by Peter and Pamela Egan, and continues to provide southeast Louisiana residents with the highest quality of care possible.
