About Academic Life Coaching
Academic Life Coaching provides coach training to educators and professionals wishing to utilize life coaching skills in their work with middle and high school students. The training focuses a core set of life coaching skills, exercises specifically tailored to teenagers, and methods for including life coaching skills and Academic Life Coaching exercises in one-to-one and group work.
The training provided by Academic Life Coaching fulfills the training hours required by the International Coach Federation to become an Associate Certified Coach.
Character and Leadership Development. Our coaching, really being a life skills coach, is a comprehensive life coaching system designed to empower students with the skills, experiences, and knowledge for them to lead effective, fulfilling lives in adulthood, develop their character strengths, and exercise leadership. Over the past five years, hundreds of students have experienced profound success. The Training and Certification Program offers its trainees the opportunity to learn what works, why it works, and how to achieve the same results.
Integrate into a Classroom. The program is designed to both train and deliver access to all the materials you will need to work effectively in your classrooms and one-to-one with students.
Easy to Deliver Training to Teachers. We understand the challenge of delivering a training to teachers with busy schedules. We tailor the program hours to fit the schedules of the teachers and administrators.
About Academic Life Coaching
Founded in 2005, Academic Life Coaching has worked one-to-one with hundreds of students and has over fifty trained coaches located throughout the world. It’s headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
Academic Life Coaching is the first organization in the world to be recognized by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as having an approved coach training program that specifically trains educators and other professionals in Life Coaching skills to work with middle and high school students.
Our founder, John Andrew Williams, graduated from Brown University in 2003 and started his career as a High School Latin teacher. He spent the next four years integrating Life Coaching skills and concepts into his classroom to create a program that helped teenagers develop their leadership and character strength. The result was the Academic Life Coaching, a ten session program that covers thirty-two concepts.
John has published four books, been a columnist for Newsweek, and has had hundreds of articles in national press as well as a handful of television interviews. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Amois, and two girls, Paloma and Georgia.
