Wendi Schneider's sensual photographs are often recognized for their focus on detail, grace of composition and delicate balance between the real and the imagined. Her images are inspired by a passion for the natural world, a background in painting and art history and the lush beauty of her southern heritage. A major contributor to the original Victoria magazine, she is also known for her hand-painted flower images, nearly 100 book covers and for designing and photographing the recreation of the 1901 Picayune’s Creole Cook Book. She moved to Denver from New York in 1994, continuing to work for her editorial clients for several years and also photographing for annual reports for Florida Atlantic University. She spent many years designing for a select group of web clients, primarily the luxurious, award-winning Pura Vida Fitness & Spa, for whom she provided art direction, web and print design, marketing, digital display and photography, including large backlit plexiglass nature images to illuminate spa treatment rooms. Beginning before they opened, she helped set mood and grow the brand for nearly 6 years. She recently turned over most of that work to an agency to devote more time to her fine art photography.

Schneider’s latest body of work, “States of Grace” encompasses an interpretation of the natural world, including painterly flora, fauna & figura images. She creates pigment ink prints on vellum and hand-applies gold, white gold or silver leaf to create texture and drama and to illuminate the precious quality of the subjects. Wendi is represented by A Gallery For Fine Photography in New Orleans. Her work can also be seen by appointment at her studio in Denver.
