United Airlines

United Airlines is one of the major airlines that are based in the United States of America. It is owned by the United Continental Holdings. It has known to be the world’s largest airline, based on the fleet size and the number of destinations it could reach. It was founded in the year 1926 as the Varney Air Lines.

It was then renamed into Boeing Air Transport in the year 1927 after the aircraft manufacturer Boeing has acquired it. It had become an independent- standing company in the year 1934 and had then merged in the year 1961 with the Capital Airlines. In the year 2011, it again named itself Continental Airlines.

The United Airlines is one of the founding members of the Star Alliance, an airline alliance, biggest in the whole world. It has offered its passengers connections to more than 1000 destinations all around the globe, totaling to over 170 countries in six different continents. It has 700 best performing aircrafts, delivering passengers to their respective destinations, operating, too in ten international hubs. It is operating largely in the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.
