At Serenity Counseling Center, I take a personalized approach to your needs. I specialize in eating disorders and weight loss/management, adolescence, family systems, couples, sexual abuse/victimization, and trauma. I frequently utilize EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which focuses on healing the past in the present. I am trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), which teaches concepts of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation. With couples therapy, I use Emotion-Focused Therapy, which focuses on recognizing our and our partner's unmet needs and learning the skills to meet these needs for ourselves and each other to heal our connection and attachment. Other therapy modalities such as biofeedback and Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy are also used in my practice, and I offer discounts for those utilizing group therapy, as research shows the immense benefit of growing with others who are also going through similar situations.
