I guess you could say my career was kind of "Dropped Into My Lap" in 1979 during my senior year of high school as a result of my doing extensive body work repairs on my own car getting my classmates' attention which, then, made me the "Go-To Guy" because of being able to do stuff we weren't even being taught in our Auto Shop class.. And, so began a 20-year time span of working for myself and other auto body repair businesses until 1999 when I went full-time on my own with Mark's Collision Center. 1. No law requires you to get more than 1 estimate. 2. You are Not obligated to use any particular body shop. 3. You choose the shop and authorize the repairs. 4. You do Not have to accept the insurance company?s appraisal of damage. 5. Check the ?Appraisal Clause? of your policy to learn how to resolve Any differences. 6. You are responsible for paying for the repairs. 7. Arrangements for Full payment of the repair bill Must be completed Before your vehicle will be released. 8. There is a Big difference between shops. Any shop can give you a lower estimate by Doing Only Marginal Quality Work, so, Do Not Assume you can get the Quality of Workmanship You Want from the shop offering the lowest estimate that would only "Come Back To Bite You" Later!
