Reclaim Life's Joy! I provide psychotherapy to a diverse population of adults and senior adults. Areas of specialization are depression, generalized anxiety, women issues (PMS, menopause, infertility, postpartum depression), Lesbian issues, and couple therapy. I am an active and supportive listener who demonstrates genuineness, warmth, empathy, and sensitivity. My practice is based on the principles of cognitive therapy identifying "dysfunctional", "irrational" thinking that causes people to experience depression, chronic worrying, and frustration. I teach the client to recognize words, thoughts, and events that trigger negative, irrational thoughts and to restructure these irrational thoughts into rational thoughts by disputing and challenging the irrational thoughts.
