Jacksonville Mercantile

The Jacksonville Mercantile is located in Historic Jacksonville Oregon, at the gateway to the Southern Oregon Wine Country. Owners Constance and David Jesser, formerly from Chicago, Sausalito and then Sonoma, Ca, have quickly developed the Mercantile's reputation as culinary landmark. Constance was schooled at, the Cordon Bleu affiliate, Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago where she honed in her affinity for preparing fine foods. After prowling the Northern California Area for 5 years, looking to find their niche in the food and wine industry, on a whim David said, "let's go check out Southern Oregon." The rest is history! Founded in 2005, the Mercantile is at the center of the exploding Southern Oregon food and wine scene. At the gateway to the Applegate Valley Wine Trail and in the home of the Britt Musical Festival, Jacksonville is becoming a wine country destination with over 6 wine tasting venues all within walking distance. Only 14 miles away from Ashland Oregon, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Jacksonville is experiencing it's second gold rush. This time from the liquid gold of fine wine.
