We take every precaution to ensure that children with food allergies are safe and well-cared for in our center. Open communication with parents/guardians, thorough documentation, and a commitment to providing alternatives when necessary are key components of our approach. Notification and Documentation: Each enrollment year and during transitions to new classrooms, parents/guardians are required to indicate any medical conditions or allergies, including food allergies, on the Personal Care Plan. It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to promptly notify Center Management of any changes or new allergies that arise throughout the year. All medical conditions and allergies are discussed verbally with parents/guardians and thoroughly documented. Staff Awareness: Our staff is fully aware of all children with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences in their respective classrooms. Menu and Allergens: We maintain a nut-free facility and do not serve any products containing nuts, nut products, or other common allergens like eggs. Menus are carefully crafted to avoid foods associated with choking hazards, ensuring child safety. Alternatives are provided for children with allergies or food restrictions if our center offers snacks and/or lunch. Food product labels are diligently checked to ensure they do not contain nuts. Special Diets: Children with special diets, whether due to allergies, cultural or religious practices, or other reasons, have meals and snacks prepared and sent from home. They may only be served "special occasion food" if provided by their parents/guardians. Children on special diets must have a physician's diet order and an Alternate Nutrition Agreement on file at the center. Documentation and Lists: Children with food restrictions or preferences are listed on the center's Medical List, posted in the kitchen and their respective classrooms. Dietary preferences are recorded in every location.

Center Menu Options: We provide recommended menus for our centers, but some centers may choose to use their own menus or tailor menus to better suit the local demographics. Nutritional content may vary according to state or local requirements, so collaboration with our Field Leaders ensures compliance. Parent/Guardian-Supplied Snacks and Lunch: Parents/guardians have the option to provide snacks and/or lunch from home for their children.If you choose to send snacks or lunch from home, it's important to ensure that they do not include choking hazards or nuts. These items must be kept in a child's lunchbox and should be nonperishable. Choking Hazards: We strictly do not serve any choking hazards to children of any age under any circumstances. This includes items like lollipops, gum, hard candy, marshmallows, grapes, blueberries, or chocolate. Meal Provision: All centers must provide a minimum of two snacks daily for the first six months of operation. Afterward, they must provide a minimum of two snacks and lunch daily. Centers may choose to provide lunch from the beginning, depending on their financial capacity or state requirements. In cases where a center does not provide lunch during the initial six months, parents/guardians are responsible for providing a nutritious lunch for their children. The center must have nutritious lunch options available to accommodate allergy or dietary restrictions or preferences. Additional Fees: Centers may not charge additional fees for lunch or snacks.

Emergency Contact Information: Child and staff emergency contact information is stored securely in multiple locations. Emergency medication is available in classrooms and as a backup in the center manager's office.

We understand that a child's health is of paramount importance, and we take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of illnesses within our center. Rest assured that your child's well-being is our top priority, and we maintain a transparent and systematic approach to managing illness. Here's what you can expect: Report of Child Illness: When a child becomes unwell, our staff will complete a Report of Child Illness form. This form will detail the reason for your child's illness and the care they received while at the center. It will also include the time we notified you, the parent/guardian, of the illness. To ensure the health and safety of all children and staff, a child may not return to the center until they are symptom-free and fever-free for 24 hours or have a doctor's note confirming they are not contagious and can return. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment: The Report of Child Illness must be signed by you, the parent/guardian, at the time of pickup. A copy of this report will be provided to you for your records. The original report will be securely stored in your child's file, beneath the Enrollment Agreement. Illness Log: We maintain an Illness Log in our infirmary, which is updated whenever a child is sent home due to illness. This log tracks the reasons for sending children or staff members home due to illness. It helps us identify any common trends or patterns in illnesses among our center's occupants.

Here are the key points regarding vaccinations and exemptions: Immunization Requirements: All active children must comply with local governmental immunization requirements. These requirements are determined and enforced by local health authorities. Documentation: Parents/guardians are required to provide current, valid documentation of their child's immunizations as mandated by local regulations. This documentation must be on file with the center and reviewed by center management before the child can actively attend the center. Exemptions: Exemptions from vaccination requirements are only permitted when allowed by the local governmental agency. The specific criteria and processes for obtaining exemptions are determined by local regulations. Physical Examination: In addition to immunizations, children must also have a current physical examination record on file, typically within the previous 24 months or as required by local regulatory agencies. Updating Records: Parents/guardians are responsible for providing the center with copies of any new vaccinations received by their child. These updates should be logged in the center's records to ensure compliance with local immunization requirements. Reporting and Auditing: The Learning Experience® tracks immunization records and physical examination dates for every child enrolled. The system may include reports that help in monitoring compliance with these requirements.

At The Learning Experience, we recommend that you provide any necessary personal care supplies for your little one, such as diapers, wipes, a change of clothing, and naptime bedding. For infants, please supply a crib sheet. For toddlers and older children, please bring a blanket and/or sleeping bag. Many of our locations also ask that you pack lunch for your child each day.
