Thank you. I very much enjoyed my stay here. All was so quiet and peaceful. I loved the touches of Victorian decor in the home. I hope to come again.

I travel a lot for work, but when I looked at room rates in Fairbanks, I was horrified. I chose to stay with Al and Verna, and booked the studio room. Yes, this room is an upstairs room, and the bathroom is downstairs. But it is a large sunny room with a comfortable KING SIZE bed and a small kitchen, not to mention a futon. Do you know how rare king size beds are in Alaska??? Al and Verna had been waiting for our arrival, and Al was kind enough to sit down with me and map out some fun activities to make our stay in Fairbanks more enjoyable. The property is ringed with raspberry bushes, and the raspberries were ripe. Al encouraged us to pick all of the berries we could eat, so we sure did! They were delicious, and we picked a large bowl for breakfast, and then stored it in our little refrigerator. Al and Verna provided everything we could need for breakfast: Cereal, bagels, toast, and coffee, that we could eat whenever we wanted. Al even left us a couple of beers in the fridge. So....here's my review. If you require certain accomodations and need a hotel to be a corporate chain, like a Marriott, you are going to have difficulty in Alaska, and you're going to miss out on a lot, because there are large swaths of Alaska that don't have many amenities and aren't fancy. But...if you are a bit of an adventurer, and you enjoy meeting down to earth nice people and being treated like you're family, you should definitely stay here. You'll love it.

Al and Verna are wonderful hosts. Al picked us up at the train station and regaled us with tales of Alaska. We slept like babes in a comfy bed with a homemade quilt and feasted on blueberry pancakes this morning. In all the days of our Alaskan vacation, Al and Verna were the friendliest people we met. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay and the accomodations were quite nice. Fairbanks turned out to be a bit dull without a car, but the Downtown log cabin was great. They got us to and from the airport and loaned us bikes and in the studio, we had lots of foods and beverages to enjoy.

We had a great stay here. Al and Verna would wonderful hosts and could not have been more helpful. Al provided us with some great tips on what to see and how to get to them. The accommodation is beautiful and had all the amentities that we needed. Was a great place to come home to after exploring Fairbanks all day. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I stayed in the King Studio; it was great! The room also holds a full couch/bed, so a family of four could be comfortable in the room. The cupboards and refrigerator were well-stocked so that I could choose what I wanted for breakfast. a variety of muffins and bagels, two types of cereal, eggs, milk and orange juice. The coffee pot was ready to push the button! The hosts placed a lot of tourist-type pamphlets in the room and they would have been welcomed by those who were trying to decide how to spend time in the area. The bathroom was downstairs, but private and well-stocked. The laundry was in the same building, in another entrance. I didn't check it out. Raspberries were growing thick on the property. Told I could pick and eat freely, I really enjoyed the rare Alaskan treat! Airport pick-up and delivery is very important to me. I appreciated the personal touch! Al and Verna were excellent hosts. I enjoyed them both! Room Tip: Some of the rooms do not have private bathrooms. If that is important to you, be sure and ask for i... See more room tips

Al and Verna have a number of different accommodations available. We had the studio apartment on the 2nd floor in the building next to their home. Fully stocked kitchen with lots of choices for breakfast. (Hey Al -- Alaska has great beer. What's with the Coor's lite in the fridge!) As Al explained when we made the reservation, the bathroom was on the first floor. Free laundry facility is available. Bikes available free of charge. Al was very helpful in giving us great suggestions for things to do.

One of the best stays of my monthlong trip allover Alaska. The couple ruling this awesome B&B is very helpful and personal and creates a comfortable atmosphere. Be sure to be there during Raspberry season :) And remember: You have you're own apartment, isn't that great?

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was a great value. It's a romantic little place conveniently located. But the real story is how Allen went above and beyond the duty of an innkeeper. Upon driving to Alaska from New York City (you read that right) we arrived in Fairbanks with a bit of car trouble. Allen heard the engine noise and immediately found us a mechanic nearby. When we were told it would take a week to fix, Allen, whose Inn was already booked for that time, got on the phone and found us the best price from his competitors! When that ran out he did something really grand, he put us into his personal guest room in the loft above his garage and charged us almost nothing until our car was ready. He and Verna really took care of us during a difficult time. When we were finally ready to leave for the lower 48, Allen said (I'm not making this up) that if we had any trouble within the next 500 miles he'd come and get us. People like that are what makes traveling around the world a beautiful experience. We'll never forget the Downtown Log Cabin B&B and the guy who went out on a limb to take care of us. Thanks a million, Allen.
