Cafe Massilia

During the Roman Times, the city of Marseille was called "Massilia". The South of France, or the region of Cote D'Azur (roughly translated as the "Blue Coast"), is well known by tourists all over the world for their glorious Mediterranean coastline cities and beaches that possess much of the old world charm. Food in the South of France is heavily influenced by its neighboring countries like Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Morrocco and Algeria. The rich colors of the sun-drenched vegetables, the aromatic herbs and spices and the abundance of both meat products and seafood, gave Provencal cuisine a very distinct taste that is unique to the French Riviera.
