This company is a horrible moving company - everything that I read on citysearch was fake - I guess all those reviews are fake and written by the company - let me start telling you my experience with this horrible moving company - it was a friday morning the day of my move - the movers called me around 7:00 Am telling me that they have some delay and will be there around 8:30 Am, well nobody show up - 10 - 11 12 noon nobody show up - I have to cancel so many things that day to be able to move ontime and catch up the rest of day - finally about 1 Pm a truck park in the front of my house with nothing stating this moving company logo - 3 movers knock on my door with a horrible smale - speaking hardly english with no { we are sorry for the delay } trying to charge me twice the ammount of money - as I did not accept it - one of the movers spoke in russian with his friend -and with no fear @ all took my antique vase & dump it on the floor & run away - I called the Police but of course those guys ready left the place - when I called this moving company Brooklyn Best Movers New York Moving & Storage they were ignoring me by telling me I never booked a move with them - do you imagine what kind of GANG ARE THEY ??? Please do not be a victim like me - do not let those barbariens of russians take advantage of you - be careful & let the world knows about those criminal animals - please Do so ,

had contracted New York City Best Movers Manhattan Moving Company to move my things from Toledo OH to New York City. Before the move I and my fiancé were told that if we did not pack everything and the movers had to then we would be charged for the packaging. We worked with Bonnie in the dispatch office and bought bubble wrap for the TV, mirrors, pictures, anything breakable. We also supplied our own boxes and taped them up. In the contract it stipulated that blankets and quilts would be provided to cover our furniture. When the movers arrived in Toledo on July 18 2010, it was only my fiancé home as I was on a business trip. She was told that she would have to pay $75 to box up the mattress and box spring, even though this had never been mentioned to us before. I asked customer service about this and then eventually the owner of the company and was told that we had the option of signing off on it and they would take it as is, my fiancé was not told this, she was told that if she didn't sign for the extra charges then they could not take the mattress. Distressed and feeling bullied she signed. Next they told us that we had to pay for 21 rolls of tape to tape the quilts and blankets onto our furniture. Remember these are the same quilts and blankets that we were told were provided. Apparently the quilts and blankets are provided but the tape to put them on with is not. This came to another $75. When I tried to call and speak to Erika the woman I had arranged the move with she was rude to me for about 5 minutes before telling me this was not her department and she could not help me. She then transferred me to customer service where I was told that I had to pay the movers and then they would send me a check back. I told them I would rather balance the amount I owe and just pay the movers $150 less and was told that I would have to speak with a someone named Sam. I called Sam a few times that day and never received a response back even after leaving a message, that was on a Friday. That following Sunday at 8pm I received a call from the driver telling me that he was going to be at my home 8am the next morning. That morning I frantically tried to get a hold of Joanne and was told that she would be in at 9. I called several times after 9 and was told by others that she was not in, and eventually someone other than her told me that she could not help me and I needed to work it out with the driver and then if I could not have him call and speak with his manager. His name was Sacha. He was uncooperative and when I asked him to call his manager he said that if he did I would be charged an extra $100 for making them wait. I called Sam one more time and finally got a hold of him only to be transferred immediately to Svetlana, the owner of the company. Svetlana cut me off repeatedly and told me that it was now too late to deal with any of the charges and that my fiancé should have called them when the things were being picked up. I am frust

I searched for a great price for a long distance move. I called them and their staff was very pleasant, up until we paid upon pickup. The pickup was on time and the movers were polite. It was then that we found that they forced us to purchase $100 worth of boxes that we did not need (we were told not to box the mirrors and pictures, so we packaged accordingly). So even though their contract states that they are not liable for any damages, they made us purchase them and proceeded to box the mirrors and pictures. Day of the move after our belongings were packed they brought out a new, revised contract. The boxes increased our cubic footage by over 75 cft which in turn added more money to our initial quote. Then we find that there are ridiculous fee's for the delivery and added costs of the move, when we were told that we were disclosed ALL fee's prior to signing our initial contract. Very deceptive and unethical business practice. The movers had delayed our move several times, and we didn't find out until we had to call them again and again. And the staff was very unknowledgeable, rude, and pushy. The delivery staff (Golan, who used to own the company, ran it into the ground and then someone bought his business but still has him as an employee) consistently lied about the delivery date and gave unintelligible excuses. Upon arrival of our belongings the movers immediately talked about tips, and how they "are poor moving guys, we live off of tips", and begun to just toss my things on the ground, while Golan just stands around talking on the phone, yelling at his fellow employee. He then harassed a patron at a public storage facility (which I had to purchase because of the extraordinary fee's it would cost to deliver at my home), which then I was warned by the manager to somehow keep Golan in check. Golan said that the storage space was too far away and wanted to charge a "long carry" fee. My contract said the first 150ft is free, and the distance was precisely 146ft. He tried to say I only get 75ft free, and demanded that I pay him in cash for the long carry fee even though in the contract it states that any additional fee incurred does not have to be paid at the time of delivery, and up to a month afterwards. He then stopped moving and I had to call the office to get my things unloaded. He tried to say he couldn't fit his 53' truck into a 60', 53' truck parking space and attempted to charge me $350 "shuttle" fee. All my furniture had damage to the corners, my couch and bed was wet (torn the plastic bags I put them in). This was a horrible experience and they did not attempt to resolve this issue whatsoever. Highly disappointed and I wonder why there is barely any liability for moving companies. Disgusting

I don't usually write reviews until my experience with this company!!! I wanted to let everyone know about my horrible experience with this company!! First, the salesperson Diane Close was a sweetheart! I had cheaper quotes but I went with this company based only on her sales pitch and customer service! I scheduled a long distance move and the movers were supposed to come on Friday morning between 9-10. Twelve o'clock rolls by and I still haven't received a phone call! I called the dispatcher 3 times asking where the movers were and she stated that I lived in a busy area and it was difficult to find parking! That's fine, just call me and let me know your going to be late!! Then the guys finally arrive, two hours later. The movers just start stacking boxes and shoving them to the hallway. The idiots dropped my laptop on the floor and broke the outside case. Then the guy in charge has me sign all the paperwork, I fill out the expected delivery date, and this idiot changes the date to two days later, and tells me to just schedule my "actual" delivery date with the dispatcher. I call the office manager Denise and she states that they are supposed to go with the expected delivery date on the form..... so someone is lying here. The worst part is after they left, my bed bolts and screws are sitting in the corner on the floor, which I had to pack myself to make sure they arrived my final destination. Fast forward a couple days to when the dispatcher said she was supposed to call me to discuss my contract, and by the way she never calls. I call and they can't find my contract, nor know where my belongings are and that she will call me in a few hours when she finds out where it is. WTH!!!! She finally calls back hours later stating that she located my belongings but doesn't know when they should arrive and the driver will call when he is close. I express my dissatisfaction with this entire process and ask to speak to the manager, when she states that she is the office manager and "the only thing I can do is say I'm sorry!" All the manager can do is say I'm sorry, SMH!! Finally, my belongings arrive. When I say it looked like someone had thrown my boxes around (I have pictures to prove it!!) They were squashed, with ripped corners, some of the were even open. I had one box that had completely been ripped open (I still have pictures to prove it). The only thing pleasant about this entire process was Diane and the movers that delivered the items. Other than that, if this company offered me a free move, I would still refuse! This company is a disaster and customer service isn't even in their vocabulary. Stay away unless you don't care about your personal belongings b/c they sure won't treat you nor your belongings with respect!!!

I don't even know where to begin with these scumbags. They sound very nice on the phone but don't be fooled, these people are CAREER CRIMINALS, sadly only one company among what has become an epidemic in NYC. Made up mostly of illegal Israeli immigrants, these companies hide behind outdated laws and prey upon people making long-distance moves. They are currently being investigated by the FBI and I hope every one of these dirt bags like David and Asher Malka, Sam and Edgar all get their heads beaten in with a brick. I was outright EXTORTED out of $1500 in a very slick, PROFESSIONAL CON.

We moved from Cambridge, MA to Manhattan and the owner Dave Malka promised us best service ever. He also said that we would have such a great experience we would never want to use another company anymore. WELL: First they made a fixed price they changed afterwards, which one could argue was still in the realm of acceptable behaviors.. Then, the movers pressured my wife (almost physically) to give them more tip. She had given them 90 USD but they wanted at least 150. I am not sure if tipping is customary with such high prices. My university colleagues tell me tipping in interstate moves is illegal.. Even if that is not accurate, that kind of tipping is price and not tip, and the physical threats were just unacceptable. Third, they did not deliver ONE full box, which had my computer in it. As we checked in the old place and in new house and nothing was there, it was not delivered. We believe that the movers were mad for not getting the tip they wanted and so they either dumped it or sold the stuff. I tried many times to get a hold of Dave to check things out, but he blocked my calls, never called back and never answered emails.. So all I can do is to spread the word to NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS

They operate a scam, they rip you off and try to get extra money from you when they deliver your goods. i would call that kidnapping . not only did they charge me overweight for my move, when i questioned the weight and requested a reweigh they started to redirect the driver to every area but mine. they overcharged almost 1000 lbs from what i knew was my weight. they also have a partner in budget movers who was the broker on this deal. see my rating for them my real rating would be 0. i think that most of these ratings are false. i can not believe that there are this many people who actually these guys are legit. they have been reported to the Dept of Transportation for deceptive practices

I scheduled them for moving reading all the reviews. And I picked them over a random person off on Craigslist. They took deposit upfront to get me scheduled and NEVER SHOWED UP ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE. And to top it never gave me a notice so that I could schedule it with someone else. The scheduled move was for 5:00PM and I get a call from the dispatcher Jacobs at 4:53 PM saying he is running late might be there by 7:00 PM. But he never came and did not even have the decency to call me and letting me know. When spoke to Ryan over the phone the day after the move which never happened she HUNG UP on me and was VERY RUDE to speak to. Bottom line - DON'T GET THEM. They are all about the talks.

I want to say thank you for your services on Saturday, Aug. 14th. The movers of Brooklyn Best Movers New York Moving & Storage are wonderful guys. They arrived at 9 as it was scheduled and could not have been more courteous, helpful, and professional. I had a horrible experience the last time moving from Manhattan to Hoboken NJ when I hired Moishe's and was full of anxiety as the morning of this move arrived. As soon as they introduced themselves, smiled, and went to work. I calmed down. We have to relocate to Miami Beach, Florida. In 19 years, we've made 10 corporate moves with so-called 'top best movers' relocation experts. While those moves were certainly far less physically stressful, all but two were disasters. But even the moves that went well (by comparison) did not go as smoothly as our New York City Movers, Movers from New York, NY. Their customer service is without peer. They are courteous, accommodating, humorous, and (believe it or not) they keep their promises! At the last minute we had to delay our move by one week (at the height of the moving season - July). No problem. They confirmed our new move date via email (with an amended contract attached) within one hour. When I expressed concern about having a truck parked in front of our house overnight in an area where commercial vehicles are banned except for deliveries, they gave us great advice (which we followed) for getting a permit from the local police precinct. (This is important to check if you live in an area where commercial traffic is not allowed.) When we arrived in Florida, we called the local terminal and they were able to confirm the delivery date we had requested, including ramps. The driver arrived exactly on time, all the paperwork was in order, and the final charges were exactly what were estimated. What a concept! When the movers were finished unloading, the local terminal called us & advise us to check the truck – it was empty – all our belongings was into the house – nothing is missing or broken, What a Great Company – Brooklyn - New York Movers is Reliable – Professional & Honest Moving Company. They were on time for pick up, clean truck and good guys , price was at least 20% less than any other NYC movers... the estimate was spot on and delivery was prompt. Customer service is great. I had a HORRIBLE MOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY I will always remember you for the HORRIBLE move you did - I wanted to take a minute to express how MAD I was with the service I received from this HOORIBLE Movers , I called the 800-number looking for a small move to be made to a vacation home within a few days. Erika took all my info and assured me he would be able to help out. She was NOT friendly and NOT helpful at ALL {I should never reserve my move -}. She gave me a price quote and explained what I should ask about if I was going to shop around. I explained that the date was not definite because we were waiting on a certificate of occupancy. She told me not to worry – I guess she was making fun of me; she would work it out if I had to switch dates. I was going to shop your price but quite frankly Erika was NOT accommodating and NOT helpful. I decided just to go with your company. I inevitably had to cancel my date and put my move on hold. When I was ready Erika did not quickly rescheduled the move. My new date was set for Wednesday, and I called on Friday to see if I could change the time because I did not realize if I started at my home between 2 and 4 I would be home too late on a school night for my children. Erika was not there but whoever answered the phone said NO PROBLEM, We will do it – that was a lie – this guy was just trying to get a other call. On Sunday, the movers arrive NOT ON TIME AT ALL , NOT COURTEOUS AND NOT HARD WORKING AND DAMAGE ALL OUR WALLS – not respectful – in one words ANIMALS - I have use other movers in my life but ANIMALS like your movers NEVER SAW IN MY ENTIRE LIFE – you and your guys are A SCAM MOVING COMPANY – HORRIBLE MOVERS

I had contracted New York City Manhattan Movers to move my things from Toledo OH to New York City. Before the move I and my fiancé were told that if we did not pack everything and the movers had to then we would be charged for the packaging. We worked with Bonnie in the dispatch office and bought bubble wrap for the TV, mirrors, pictures, anything breakable. We also supplied our own boxes and taped them up. In the contract it stipulated that blankets and quilts would be provided to cover our furniture. When the movers arrived in Toledo on July 18 2010, it was only my fiancé home as I was on a business trip. She was told that she would have to pay $75 to box up the mattress and box spring, even though this had never been mentioned to us before. I asked customer service about this and then eventually the owner of the company and was told that we had the option of signing off on it and they would take it as is, my fiancé was not told this, she was told that if she didn't sign for the extra charges then they could not take the mattress. Distressed and feeling bullied she signed. Next they told us that we had to pay for 21 rolls of tape to tape the quilts and blankets onto our furniture. Remember these are the same quilts and blankets that we were told were provided. Apparently the quilts and blankets are provided but the tape to put them on with is not. This came to another $75. In the contract there was also a stipulation for a fuel surcharge of 15% on top of the quoted price. When they calculated our final price they included the extra $150 in the amount the 15% was applied to, further driving up the cost. When I tried to call and speak to Erika the woman I had arranged the move with she was rude to me for about 5 minutes before telling me this was not her department and she could not help me. She then transferred me to customer service where I was told that I had to pay the movers and then they would send me a check back. I told them I would rather balance the amount I owe and just pay the movers $150 less and was told that I would have to speak with a someone named Sam. I called Sam a few times that day and never received a response back even after leaving a message, that was on a Friday. We want to let you know that NY Movers - New York Movers NYC is A HORRIBLE moving service. The movers are not polite,not respectful and nevergive us a full of helpful information. I have been a military 28 years and moved every 18 months. I've had some ok movers and some movers that were really bad. NY Movers - New York Movers NYC handled our move with HORRIBLE - RUDE BEHAVIOR, EVERYTHING was damaged and BROKEN. Using them was the worst thing I did in my life .

NYC Moving Manhattan Movers did not work hard work at ALL and NOT dedication to get my relocation done according to my needs. I placed very rigourous demands on my move and from the office staff to the crew were NOT good 7 very rude . The budget was NOT met, my delivery to Brooklyn was NOT deliver on time and my new home looks not wonderful a ALL . Moving stresses me out severely; I imagine I'm not alone there. We called for quotes from several local outfits and, booked with New York Movers -What a mistake we did - Long Distance & Apartment Movers NYC. Of course, this final decision was influenced heavily by all the outstanding reviews{ by the way , we find out LATER THAT ALL THOSE GOOD REVIEWS WAS WRITTEN BY THE COMPANY ITSELF , which at the same time gave me that "too good to be true" feeling. Not so! Those guys set me up in no time , broke several pieces , very RUDE. Our couch took 10 MN for the furniture delivery guys to get into our last place, They really could not do it , I guess those movers did not know what they are doing well I will never use this moving company New York Movers - Long Distance & Apartment Movers NYC - they are not professional - rude - horrible in a few words?

My wife and I moved last week with this New York WORST Movers. Initially, we were reluctant to hire good New York Movers. But we saw great reviews on them everywhere, so we decided to give it a try but we were WRONG because I guess all those GOOD REVIEWS WAS WRITTEN BY THIS COMPANY. We were EXTREMELY WRONG, our moving experience was HORRIBLE. They came one day to complete the packing 3 HOURS LATE, and then came the following day to complete the move after waiting for 5 hours before the crew arrive. It was undoubtedly our most HORRIBLE moving experience ever. They did damage EVERYTHING (including crystal glasses, heavy furniture, etc.). And they did ding ALL our walls and doors. Every member of their team was NOT friendly and NOT polite. And they work super SLOW! When they were unloading our furniture, they would literally DROPPING OUR FURNITURES ON THE FLOOR. I have no idea where they find all the energy. Not only do they provide THE WORST moving service, THEY DEMANDED A BIG TIP after this HOORIBLE MOVE, namely the New York WORST Movers!?

Hi, my name is Dammy and I was managing my parents' relocation from New York City, NY to Miami, FL where I bought a new house, so I decided to take my parents to Miami but since my job takes all my time I had just a few hours to find a good mover in NYC. My parents are 70+ so it was absolutely impossible for them to set the move themselves, and all I had was the Internet to find a good and reliable Manhattan based moving company being able to provide long distance move from New York City to Miami. I checked 15 something moving companies, their rates and terms, asked dozens of questions and finally I hired NYC Moving Manhattan Movers for my parents' move. The company provided us with all FALSE level of moving( and packing as well since my mom has a lot of stuff to be packed). The delivery was within 22 days and it was a DIFFERENT CREW. The rate was not the same as promised, false movers - they refuse to give me my furniture till i pay - i end up paying $ 2000 more than the original price and now i still have to spend time in court to get back my money - What a cruel movers

Brooklyn - Manhattan - NYC - Moving Services were great with getting my things packed and moved. When I called the office they were more than helpful in making sure I got the information I needed or asked for. Their pricing was great with the gas prices being what they are and compared to other quotes. When they showed up (on time) they started right in and humped the things that needed to be packed quick and efficiently. They did not drag their feet to prolong the process. In fact we finished well ahead of my expectations by hours. There was no breakage of my belongings either. They wrapped and packed things very well. I had over 15 large pieces of glass from table tops and mirrors that they loaded, moved and unloaded without any problems. They were upbeat and happy to be working. We had a 100 mile drive to the new location with a stop at a storage unit. This was no problem and they packed the truck with the stop planned to make unloading quicker. I want to comment on what an outstanding job the two men did that moves us. We have had many movers over the years. Much of those experiences weren't positive. I have had furniture damaged, lazy workers, etc. Our experience s have been so bad that my daughter did not want to hire movers but preferred to do it ourselves. However, I just wasn't up to the lifting, hauling, etc. The two men that did our move were outstanding. They were very efficient, fast, conscientious, polite and helpful. Never have I received such service with a moving company. There wasn't one minute wasted by these two individuals. In addition, they put the furniture where they were directed and did everything possible to accommodate us. If New York Best Movers needs a reference, I would be happy to accommodate. I will recommend your company to co-workers, friends, businesses, etc. Thank you for a positive experience?
