I had to move on a short notice from Brooklyn to Queens and was very nervous while trying to pick a mover. I had never moved before and had been getting hammered by so many moving companies with different ways of moving and it was very confusing to say the least. The lady from Brooklyn Movers had called me and we bonded almost instantly. We did an inventory of our belongings and we were given a price based on those items. The crew from Brooklyn movers was really nice guys and worked very hard during our move; they wrapped all our things securely and loaded them on to the truck. At delivery to our surprise our items weight a little less so we saved a few bucks on the move as well. Like I said from the start we had never moved before and had great reservations but Brooklyn Movers in really did a wonderful job of making a tough situation painless. Thanks for the service!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 1 star isn't low enough for this moving company. I don't want to go into too much detail (I'd rather not relive the horror that was my move experience to Germany from NY in March this year,) but essentially it was the worst experience I've ever had with a mover. My furniture was delivered after 3 months (when I was given a time frame of 6-8 weeks for delivery,) they missed the first boat for delivery because they didn't process my payment until I called 1 week later to "check in" on things, and they were incompetent from start to finish. Once my furniture and belongings were delivered (3 months late, as previously mentioned) there were $3300 worth of damages, (all of which I claimed.) If you decide to go for the cheaper option (a mistake I unfortunately made,) make sure to get the insurance!!! Also, stock up on painkillers because this whole process was a headache. I would never recommend this mover and would suggest saving yourself the trouble and pay a little more for better service.

I started out my journey Movers Of Brooklyn - Brooklyn Moving Company SPAM Movers really enthusiastically, as they were highly recommended by people other yelpers. I was impressed by the courtesy and professionalism of the receptionist. I called on Friday asking for a Monday appointment, and she accommodated me. But things went downhill from there. My mother called me on Monday morning, frantic because one of the movers, the foreman I think, was bitterly complaining about the conditions. He was upset because there was dust and he felt he was not adequately prepared to be in the environment. He proceeded to disparage his boss, saying that the owners didn't care about him or his health. He immediately told my mother that the move would require more than three hours and movers, and that he was not going to be able to complete it. He continued to complain and have an attitude for the rest of the move. At one point he was in his truck while the other two movers were unloading, and when my mother approached him, he responded that he would not charge her for the full hour. I am not disappointed that the man took issue with the conditions, but rather his handling of the situation. Had I known there would be that amount of dust and mold, I would have notified the dispatcher. Instead of incessantly complaining and giving my mother an attitude, he could have explained that the conditions necessitated special protective equipment and more men, and therefore they would have to reschedule. He could have handled it professionally, not like an insolent 5 year old. My mother offered him a mask and gloves, yet he continued to whine. I even called the dispatcher and apologized for not having properly prepared him, and he said that his men were prepared for "anything." Clearly, they were not. I emailed the receptionist, and she responded by politely brushing me off and never fully addressed my concerns. While the physical move went fine, the added stress of the complaining employee left my mother harried and stressed out. They did not complete the move, and we hired another company to come back later in the week --- I will never use them again.

They run a scam. Using different names, faked addresses, dozens phone numbers. They mislead the customers’ right from the beginning. Giving extremely low estimate and by the time your furniture on their truck - That " low " estimate find a way to TRIPLE itself. You are forced to pay the new price! BE AWARE OF THE SCAM! Wonderful....until they have your belongings I had a horrible cross country move with NY Movers. After arriving 6 hours late on pick up, my trip took several weeks longer than I was told it would (try living on the floor for 2 weeks, with few clothes to start a new job, on an aerobed). Their customer service refused to call me back, put my on endless hold for people who weren't even in the office, and told me constant lies about where the truck was, and why it was late. Once they have your belongings, they treat you like dirt. Don't think you'll have anyone on your side if anything goes wrong either - you're totally alone once they have your stuff, no credit card, no better business bureau, nothing. I would never recommend them. I am baffled by the positive reviews, the negative reviews on other sites are more in line with what I experienced. If I could go back in time, I'd pay double to use a different provider awful service, DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP!! These guys agreed to arrive between 12-1pm, but didn't even have the courtesy to call to tell me they would be late. They then said 3:30, which would have been too late; and then at 3:30 when they hadn't shown up, I called again and they pushed it to 5pm. I took a day off work for NOTHING. The guy I spoke to apologized profusely, but by then I didn't want to hear it. He said he could do it the next morning, but I didn't want to risk being stood up again so I went with another company which was more costly, but ended up being very reliable. A&A Alliance quoted me a very reasonable rate, but I'm not even sure if these guys are legit. They didn't ask for a deposit, when my building sent them the requirements for the certificate of insurance, they didn't know what it was for. Be very careful before you book these guys. I will never call them for a future move, SORRY NO SUMMER FOR THOSE GUYS, REPORT THEM TO EVERY ONE, CRIMINALS,BANDITS,CROOKS,LIARS

"They operate a scam; they rip you off and try to get extra money from you when they deliver your goods. i would call that kidnapping . Not only did they charge me overweight for my move, when i questioned the weight and requested a reweigh they started to redirect the driver to every area but mine. They overcharged almost 1000 lbs from what i knew was my weight. They also have a partner in BUDGET MOVERS who was the broker on this deal. See my rating for them my real rating would be 0. I think that most of these ratings are false. i cannot believe that there are this many people who actually these guys are legit. They have been reported to the Dept of Transportation for deceptive practices"

Ok - I used Movers of Brooklyn a year ago and I was blown away by the price and by the service they provided. Move again this year - the Price was significantly higher but that is understandable. The guys who moved me were excellent - they really busted their can and I cannot knock them what so ever. Moving is stressful -- and planning a move out of the country while wrapping up a huge consulting project and getting ready for major surgery is even worse. But thanks to Junior and his crew for their cheerful, early-morning attitude, my things were moved from self-storage to Brooklyn Moving and Storage facility with no stress whatsoever. They were pleasant, incredibly efficient and 100 percent professional. I've also contracted for Dolphin moving and storage to handle my condo move this coming Friday -- and thanks to the fabulous service I received from JR, I'm THAT much more confident about how things will go later this week.
