Prestige Barber Shop

I find that whenever I go to Prestige Barber Shop in NYC midtown I leave there with a level of self confidence that is several notches higher than when I walk in. There is something about a straight razor shave and a good haircut that makes a guy feel empowered. Whenever I have a chance I go there. Very often for a shave and a cleanup in between cuts. Prestige Barber Shop is the best place in midtown NYC for a men’s haircut that I know of. I will be coming back for years to come.

My favorite barber is Oksana at Prestige Barber Shop in midtown east on East 53rd Street.  She is unbelievable with giving a men’s scissors haircut.  She knows exactly what I want whenever I go there without me ever telling her.  She is the best in New York in my opinion.  I am sure others feel the same about Sam and the other barbers too.  All of the staff there are trained professionals that specialize in men’s haircuts. Give them a try I promise you will enjoy the service.

There are many places in New York to get a great haircut but few, if any, which give you a straight razor shave like Prestige Barber Shop. They are what being a barbershop in midtown NYC should be. They are all professional barbers, not hairdressers, and are highly skilled with the scissors and razor. Plus they are uo to date on all the latest trends in men’s haircuts. When I get my hair cut and shave there I really feel as if I had a special treatment. I go to work and people ask me why I look younger. I tell then to go see George or Sam at Prestige Barber Shop.

When my friend came to visit from my hometown of Elgin Illinois, I decided to treat them all to a haircut and a straight razor shave at Prestige Barber Shop in midtown. I knew that they had never had a real men’s haircut and shave so I thought it would be a nice experience for them. I must say that they really enjoyed the experience. I also liked the fact that it cost less than a couple of rounds at Rosie O’ Grady’s bar. When they were done it was on them to buy the drinks and they did. The most well groomed guys in the bar.

I was visiting New York for a possible new job and also took in some of the sights. When I was walking around in midtown on the east side I discovered this really traditional looking barber shop with a sign on the sidewalk with prices of men’s haircuts called Prestige Barber Shop. I decided to go inside and try the place out as the prices were no higher then they were in Philadelphia where I live. I really enjoyed the whole experience. I had a barber named Sam who was very nice in a different sort of way.  He gave me a traditional wet shave and a great haircut. Now that I am a New York resident I have been back their several times and love it.

I have been going to Prestige Barber Shop for 3 years. The staff all seems to know what they are doing. Everyone has a great attitude, and I love to chat with them. They seem to know all this new men’s hair styles and every time I go, I try something new and enjoy them all. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

I’ve been using Prestige Barber Shop in NYC for 9 years as I find them to be both highly professional and very good value. They also of course give very fine hair-cuts and Royal shave. Keep up a good work.

not going back??

Obviously, this is just about my experience. Oksana and Sasha both seem like nice people but my last (and I do mean last) time here didn't go well. It was my third visit. My wife was determined that I was going to get a haircut that day. I dropped in on a Saturday afternoon without calling ahead. Probably a bad idea. Sasha didn't remember my name yet and he was telling me a story about some actor with the same first name as me for the third time. His way of remembering, I guess. Anyway, it seemed like he was in a hurry. Kind of like when my Dad used to take me to his barber when I was a kid. He just clamped his hand on the top of my head and jerked it whatever way he wanted. He was bearing down on the clippers so if felt like he was pulling hairs out of my neck instead of cutting them. Just like the good old days. He was almost finished when one of his regular customers came in. He put down the scissors immediately and started talking to the regular customer. I knew we were done. He stopped cutting my hair so his regular customer wouldn't have to wait one second longer. Like I said, he was almost finished anyway. There was a small tuft of hair left on the top of my head that would have taken him two seconds to finish. I trimmed it off myself with a pair of scissors when I got home

Prestige Barbershop is by far the best barbershop in Midtown, Manhattan and possibly all of New York City. I'm not very particular about my hair, I usually just go in and let them do their job, i always leave satisfied and constantly get asked where I go to get my hair cut. I go to Prestige Barbershop between 53rd and 3rd Ave. Sasha and Oksana have both done my hair and are both amazing barbers. Great price, amazing service, and all my friends started going here too.

I'm very paranoid when it comes to my hair. I need to look clean and professional for my job 24/7. Prestige Barbershop in midtown always keeps me looking clean and fresh. I've made the mistake of trying out other barbershops in the area, but not anymore. I'm writing this review as a thank you to the staff at prestige, and also as invitation to those who want to find a barbershop that offers first class hair cuts at a more than fair New York City price.

Tried Prestige Barbershop a month ago and have gone back two times since. It's fair to say that they stand among the best in NYC. The service, staff and price were all great. Sasha was great, very funny, and the guy knows his business. He's been doing it for over 20 years, so i feel comfortable with him handling my hair. This is NOT like your sleezy shops in the area that allow new workers to destroy your hair. Quality for a great price. Check them out.

Prestige Barbershop is great. I've been to all the barbershops around the area and I think this is the best one to choose. Really good quality hair cuts, they know what they are doing over here as opposed to other places. Not even that expensive for a shop in NY.

Best barbershop in midtown Manhattan. They have the best barbers and the coolest location. I love this place. I'm a very satisfied customer.

I've been going to Oksana to get my hair cut for a long time and I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. What a wonderful place Prestige Barbershop!!! Nice people and very hardworking. I look forward to my next visit!!

Rude

I work a Security job that often provides information to people who stop by wishing to know what is where in the area and I will do searches online and call before I send them off, to make sure they are open. I called this shop and simply asked them their hours for that day. The man was extremly rude and hung up on me. I called again and before I could get two words out - was hung up on again. They answered "Reamir Barber Shop" so I know they were open but they don't like it when you call to ask questions obviously. This tells me they have HORRIBLE customer service. I would not bother with them
